Adobe actually won’t discontinue Animate

Adobe has Backed Off Plans to Discontinue Animate, But Don't Get Too Excited - It's Now in Maintenance Mode.

In a surprise move, Adobe has announced that it will no longer be discontinuing its animation software, Adobe Animate. Despite the initial plans to drop support for the app on March 1st, Adobe has now reassured users that Animate is safe from the chopping block. Instead, the company will put the app into maintenance mode.

As part of this new development, Animate will continue to receive security patches and bug fixes, ensuring that users can access their content without worrying about compatibility issues. Existing and new customers alike will still have full access to the software, which is good news for creators who rely on it for various projects.

The decision comes after Adobe received a backlash from the community over its original announcement. The company acknowledged that the initial email did not meet user expectations and caused unnecessary anxiety within the Animate user base. By backtracking on its plans, Adobe has demonstrated an understanding of its users' needs and is now committed to maintaining access to the app for as long as possible.

While it's not all good news - new features are no longer on the horizon for Animate - the software will remain available in maintenance mode indefinitely for individual customers, small businesses, and enterprise clients. For non-enterprise users, support will continue until March 1st, 2027, while enterprise customers will have access to Animate until March 1st, 2029.

Overall, this development is a welcome relief for the Animate community, which had expressed its disappointment over Adobe's initial announcement. It appears that the company has taken user feedback on board and will continue to support the software as long as it remains relevant.

omg can't believe adobe pulled that one 🙅‍♂️!!! i was so worried about all my animators friends losing their bread winner 💸🎨 but now they can breathe a sigh of relief 😌. gotta give props to adobe for listening to the community tho 👏 - it's not just about making money, they actually care about what ppl need 💕. maintenance mode is def a step in the right direction 🔄 and who knows maybe they'll even add some new features down the line 😉👀

oh man i was totally freaked out when i heard they were gonna drop support for animate lol i mean i know it's not exactly a mainstream tool but there are so many awesome creators who rely on it for their projects and it would've been a bummer to see them lose access to it 🤯 anyway glad adobe listened to the community and decided to backpedal a bit now that they're putting it in maintenance mode i'm just hoping they'll keep adding security patches and bug fixes so we can all breathe a sigh of relief 🙏

I was worried when I heard they were gonna axe Animate 😅, thought all my animation projects would be doomed. But now I can breathe a sigh of relief, good move from Adobe! I mean, I know they're not bringing out new features or anything but at least it's still around for us creators to use. I was one of those people who freaked out when I heard the news, thought my portfolio would be ruined. Guess you could say Adobe listened to their users and came back down from the ledge 🙏. Maintenance mode might not sound like the most exciting thing but hey, it's better than nothing! Can't wait to see what they do next 👀

🤩 Like I know some people were freaking out when they heard Adobe was gonna axe Animate 😱, but honestly, don't get too hyped just yet... 🙅‍♂️ It's now in maintenance mode, which means security patches and bug fixes will be the new norm for this app. That's still good news, I guess 👍 But let's be real, no new features are on the horizon, so that's a major bummer for some creators out there 🎨💔

lol I mean, who wouldn't be relieved when they find out their software is "safe" 🙄? Like, thanks for saving us from the brink of doom, Adobe! 🤦‍♀️ It's not like this was a clear example of corporate miscommunication or anything... 😏 I'm glad we can all breathe a sigh of relief now that Animate will continue to receive security patches and bug fixes. That's gonna be super exciting for all the creators out there who are just, you know, living their best lives with this software 🎉.

I'm so relieved 😌 they're not getting rid of Animate! I was literally freaking out when I heard they were gonna stop supporting it 🤯. I know some people said it's not the best software, but for me and a lot of others, it's been a game changer 💥. We can finally rest easy knowing our projects are safe from being incompatible or whatever 😅. Still, new features? Not happening? 🙃 is kinda harsh, but I guess maintenance mode is better than nothing 🤷‍♂️. Thanks for the reprieve, Adobe! 👍
