A refugee's deportation rattles a deeply conservative town: 'What Trump has done is not Christlike'

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this 😲... I mean, Binod had built a whole life in the US, working, raising a family, contributing to his community... and then BAM! He gets deported back to Bhutan? That's not fair at all 🤕. And it's not just Binod, there are so many others like him who've been affected by these policies. I'm starting to think that the US immigration system is way too complicated and needs a serious overhaul 🔄. What's the point of having a country if we're just gonna send people back without giving them a chance to start fresh? It's not just about enforcing laws, it's about treating people with humanity ❤️. We should be welcoming people who want to make a better life for themselves and their families, not punishing them for trying to belong 🤝.

this story breaks my heart 🤕 binod was living in the us for over 16 years, built a life, raised a family... he's not even supposed to be deported for some small time thing he did years ago. what kind of system is that? 😡 and to send him all the way back to bhutan, where he has no ties anymore... it's just cruel 🤷‍♂️

i feel bad for stephanie too, she's got to deal with the aftermath of this deportation. it's not fair that one mistake like this can have such severe consequences on a person's life. and the fact that ice was able to deport him without even giving him a chance to fight it... that's just wrong 🙅‍♂️

i wish more people would think about the human cost of immigration policy before they start talking about "enforcing the law" or whatever. it's not just numbers and statistics, it's real people with families and lives and stories like binod's 💔
