Austin Shooting Leaves Victim Dead, Another Injured in South Side Violence
A double shooting left one person dead and another seriously injured over the weekend in Austin on the West Side of Chicago. According to police reports, two men aged 26 and 30 stood outside a home in the 500 block of North Central Avenue around 11:25 a.m. Saturday when three assailants emerged from a vehicle, opening fire.
The 30-year-old victim was rushed to Stroger Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, with authorities confirming that he had no identification on him at the time of the attack. His name remains undisclosed until further notice.
The 26-year-old victim suffered a graze wound on his foot and reportedly refused medical attention from responders.
Despite an investigation underway by Chicago police, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting as of press time.

south side is like, it's already hella violent now add to that and you get...this 
26 year old dude just 'cause he stood outside his home gets shot at...that's life or death stuff right there. and the fact that police still haven't made any arrests...it's all so frustrating 
gotta keep pushing for answers tho
chicago is like a city with a lot of problems and gun violence is one of them unfortunately it's not just austin shooting that's happening every week in some other part of the city, or even the country...like what's going on in usa can't we find a way to stop this? 
also how do u expect ppl to feel safe if u don't know ur neighbors and cant walk down the street without worrying about being shot ? 
need more community policing and support for those who are affected by this violence, not just arrest & prosecute
can't believe the victims name hasn't been released yet, feels like they're already being forgotten by the system 
only thing that's clear is that we need to keep talking about this violence and finding ways to stop it

meanwhile we got a whole city dealing with this pain & trauma 
. It's heartbreaking to see innocent lives lost or affected in such senseless violence. We need to continue finding ways to bring communities together, promote understanding & peace. 
what's goin on with the community here? more ppl need to talk about this stuff and find a way to move forward 
. And the fact that nobody's been arrested yet is like, a major red flag - what are they waiting for? More bodies gonna keep showing up until someone takes responsibility?
i mean, what's going on in chicago? 2 people get shot and killed in broad daylight outside a home... that's not even news anymore 
and what really got me is the lack of updates from police - no arrests, nothing... it's like they're saying 'oh well' to these lives lost
