so the 10-year-old boy claims self-defense but they're still investigating? shouldn't he be charged with a crime considering his age? doesn't sound right that some kid gets stabbed to death in a scuffle and now the kid who did it is facing detention... isn't this kinda messed up?
this whole situation is just heartbreaking... 10 years old is way too young for any kid to be handling that kind of situation 
, especially when it comes to defending themselves against another human being 
. I don't know what to make of the boy's claims of self-defense yet 
, but one thing's for sure - we need to be having a way more serious conversation about how we're preparing our youth for these kinds of situations

i dont know man, its such a tricky situation. and whats with this 'self-defense' excuse? is it really that hard to tell if someone's about to hurt you or not when youre 10 yrs old? 
I'm not saying that's the solution, but come on, let's at least try to figure out what's going on here instead of just throwing around buzzwords.
