1-year-old boy dies after fall from Edgewater window

A tragic accident has claimed the life of a one-year-old boy in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago. Mukhsin Mirzoashra fell from the fourth floor window of an apartment building on North Sheridan Road at around 11:30 a.m. Friday, leaving him with severe head injuries.

The young child was rushed to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was initially listed as being in critical condition. Despite receiving medical attention, Mirzoashra succumbed to his injuries just hours later, at approximately 4:40 p.m., at Lurie Children's Hospital.

Initially reported by police, the boy was mistakenly identified as two years old. However, detectives have since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, seeking to determine the cause of the fall.

Wow 😱 this is just devastating 🤕 a one-year-old life cut short like that is just heartbreaking ❤️ I can only imagine how scary and confusing it must be for his family right now 😩 I hope they get all the support they need during this incredibly tough time 💔

omg that's so sad 🤕... what even is with these windows though? like how can they not be secure? i mean idk how much it costs but shouldn't parents be worried about their kids falling out of them? anyway what's edgewater? sounds kinda cool but also super sad at the same time... did they find out if it was an accident or whatever? my little cousin is one and he's still running around like a wild kid lol what should've happened to that poor baby instead 🤔💔

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one... a 1-year-old's life cut short in an instant 😱. I mean, can you even process something like that? It's just so senseless and heartbreaking. You're thinking about this little boy's future, all the laughter he'd share with his family, the adventures he'd have, and then BAM! He's gone. It's a tragedy not just for him, but for everyone who loved him.

I'm glad detectives are looking into what happened to try and piece together how it went wrong. I hope they can get some answers that bring some closure to those grieving. And to the family of little Mukhsin... my heart goes out to you all. 🤕

I just got back from the most amazing hike in Wisconsin 🏞️ yesterday! The sun was shining and the views were insane... anyway, I was thinking about how crazy life is one minute and then tragedy strikes the next. Like, what's going through that little guy's mind before he falls? 😕 And poor parents, I can only imagine how heartbreaking this must be for them 🤗. I've been meaning to try out that new playground in Lincoln Park with my nieces... anyway, safety first, especially when it comes to kids 🚨.

Ugh, this is just terrible 🤕... how do people even get that wrong with their own child's age? I mean, come on, it's not like we're talking about a 2-year-old toddler here, just a tiny baby who didn't even get to see his first birthday! Anyway, gotta wonder what was going through that mom's head when she told the cops she said her son was two... did she really think of that as a 'normal' age for a kid to fall out a window? 🤦‍♀️ And now we're left with this senseless tragedy and no answers. It's just so sad 😔...

OMG you won't believe what just happened in Chicago 🤯! A one-yr-old kid fell out a 4th floor window and passed away 💔. Like, how does that even happen? The cops initially thought he was 2 yrs old which is even more tragic 😭. Now they're trying to figure out what went down. Poor little guy 🚑💕

😞 I just heard about that poor little guy and it's heartbreaking. One year is way too young for his life to be cut short like that. You'd think with all the safety measures we have in place, accidents like this shouldn't happen anymore. It's a tragic reminder of how fragile life can be.

I wonder what could've led up to it - was there a moment of distraction or just plain old mistake? Either way, I'm sure his family is devastated and I hope they get the support they need during this tough time. 🤗
