'You have to be able to laugh at yourself': Rosenior shrugs off online mockery

Liam Rosenior, Chelsea's new head coach, isn't fazed by online mockery about his awkward misstep during a recent match against Arsenal. The 41-year-old, who has become a laughingstock on social media for his quotes and mannerisms, simply shrugs off the jokes, choosing to focus on having fun instead.

Rosenior's self-deprecating attitude is evident in his response to being compared to David Brent, the infamous fictional character from The Office. He says life is too short to worry about what others think of him, emphasizing that one should be able to laugh at themselves. It's unclear whether he's aware of other Premier League clubs making fun of his clumsiness on social media.

Despite facing ridicule over a recent incident where he struggled with the ball during Chelsea's Carabao Cup semi-final match against Arsenal, Rosenior insists he has been working hard to improve. When asked about this in an interview, he mentioned that some of his teammates, including 18-year-old Brazilian winger Estêvão Willian, have poked fun at him over the mishap.

However, instead of taking offense, Rosenior chose to laugh it off with his team. "The lads have played it back to me on the video and we've had a laugh about it," he said. This carefree attitude is quite a departure from the usual stern demeanor associated with football coaches.

Rosenior's focus now seems to be creating the right culture at Chelsea, where his players are engaged in pre-match huddles in the centre circle. The influence of Willie Isa, the player support and development officer, can be seen in this approach. For Rosenior, it all begins with the mind – a positive mindset is key to unlocking success.

The coach also defended Alejandro Garnacho, who was taken off during their recent match against West Ham. He denied that the young winger lacks confidence to take on full-backs, saying instead that his ceiling for success in life is limitless. Rosenior's approach seems refreshing in the cutthroat world of football, where coaches are often expected to be serious and stern figures.

ugh, can't believe chelsea's new head coach liam rosenior just laughed off all that online shade about him tripping over his own feet lol 🤦‍♂️ anyway, good on him for not taking it seriously and focusing on having fun with his teammates... but what i really want to see is if he can actually get the team to win some matches now 🏆👀

I'm not sure if this guy is gonna last as Chelsea coach lol. I mean, he's making a big deal out of people mocking him online... like, it's just a bit of fun, mate 🤣. But seriously, it's good that he's choosing to focus on having a laugh about it instead of taking offense. The fact that his teammates are all teasing each other and having a laugh in the huddle is pretty cool, I guess.

But let's be real, we've seen coaches before who tried this approach and it didn't exactly work out for them 🤦‍♂️. Rosenior seems like a good guy and all, but can he actually get the job done on the pitch? We'll see about that... ⏰

You gotta love Rosenior's attitude 🤣! He's taking the good with the bad, like who cares about being called David Brent? 😂 It's not easy for a coach to be seen as goofy on social media, but he's showing us that there's more to him than just his awkward moments. I think it's refreshing that he's focusing on having fun and creating a positive culture at Chelsea ⚽️. He's got some great team guys behind him, like Estêvão Willian, who are poking fun at him and making the locker room an even more enjoyable place 🤜🏻💬. Maybe this is just what football needs - a coach who isn't too serious all the time? I'm intrigued to see how he develops his team's mindset and creates that winning culture 🔓.

he's doing something right lol he shrugs off all the jokes & focuses on having fun 🤣, it's like that old saying "don't take yourself too seriously" is true for him 💁‍♂️ his players seem to vibe with him too 🤝 maybe they're onto something w/ their pre-match huddles in the centre circle 👊

I mean, have you ever thought about how our online personas can shape our self-perception? Like, we see Liam Rosenior making a silly mistake on the pitch, and suddenly we're all making fun of him 😂. But what if that's just a reflection of our own insecurities? 🤔 What if we were to take a step back and realize that everyone makes mistakes, even coaches who are super experienced? It's like, life is too short to worry about what others think, right? 🙏 We should be focusing on having fun and enjoying the game, not tearing each other down with memes 💻. And it sounds like Rosenior is onto something with his carefree approach – creating a positive culture at Chelsea is all about embracing that kind of attitude 💪.

🤔 it's funny how we wanna see others laugh at themselves but not so much ourselves 🙃 we need to take a cue from Rosenior and learn to find the humor in our own mistakes - it's all about perspective, right? life is too short to sweat over what others think of us 🌈 focus on being kind to yourself & others, and you'll be amazed at how much more enjoyable life becomes ❤️ by the way, this whole "culture" thing Rosenior is talking about is super relatable - it's all about creating a vibe where people feel comfortable & empowered to be themselves 💖

🤣 I gotta say, Liam Rosenior's just too chill about all these online jokes 🙄. It's actually kinda refreshing to see a coach who can take a joke and not get his feathers ruffled. His focus on creating the right culture at Chelsea is pretty cool 👏. Like, if your players are laughing with each other instead of at you, that's when you know you're doing something right 🤝. And I love how he's talking about having fun instead of worrying what others think – like, life's too short for drama 😂. Can't wait to see how this new approach plays out! 💪

omg u no what i think about liam rosenior lol he's literally so chill about all the jokes online 🤣 but idk if its coz he's got a funny team or watever... like seriously tho, his focus on creating a good team culture is fire 🔥 especially wif that pre-match huddle thingy in the centre circle 👏 and i love how he's supporting alejandro garnacho too 👍 even if some ppl doubted him rn... Rosenior just needs to get the right players 2 his squad & they'll b golden 💪

You know, it's funny how we as humans can turn what's meant to be hurtful into a joke 🤷‍♂️. I mean, Liam Rosenior took some pretty tough jokes from the Arsenal fans about his mishap on the pitch, but instead of getting defensive, he chose to laugh at himself and move forward. It's like, we all have our own brand of clumsiness - whether it's in football or in life 🤦‍♂️. The thing is, if we can learn to not take ourselves too seriously, we might just find that the pressure we put on ourselves is actually a bit of a joke 😅. And Rosenior seems to be onto something with his focus on creating a positive culture at Chelsea - it's all about setting the right mindset for success 🏆.

idk about this new coach, sounds like he's more worried about being a cool dad than actually getting results on the pitch 🤣 meanwhile i'm over here watching clips of him tripping over his own feet and thinking "nah mate, you're gonna get sacked before season's out" 😂 but i gotta admit, if he can bring some positivity to the team and get the players laughing with each other, that's a good start. still not sure about his tactics tho 🤔

🤣 I gotta say, this guy Liam Rosenior is like a breath of fresh air on the pitch 🌿! He's not taking himself too seriously, and that's awesome 😎. Who wouldn't want their coach to have a good sense of humor? It's all about creating a positive vibe among the team players, you know? 💬 The fact that he's embracing his imperfections and laughing at himself is so refreshing 🤣. And I love how he's focusing on building that right culture at Chelsea - it's all about the mind game now! 🧠 Positive mindset, limitless ceiling... sounds like a winning formula to me 🏆

I gotta say, this Liam Rosenior dude is defo a breath of fresh air in the football world 🤯. I mean, who wouldn't wanna see a coach just chillin' and laughin' at himself? It's like, yeah we all make mistakes, but do we really need to be reminded of 'em every five seconds? For me, it's all about keepin' things in perspective, you know? Life's too short to get caught up in what others think. I'm lovin' the fact that he's focusin' on creatin' a positive culture at Chelsea, where the lads can have fun and just enjoy the game 🏆.

But what really got me thinkin' is how this reflects our society as a whole. We're always bein' judged, criticized, and put under the microscope. It's like, can't we all just relax and be ourselves for once? 🤗 Rosenior's approach might not be for everyone, but it's definitely inspiring a different way of thinkin'. And hey, if it works for him and his team, who cares what others say? 💁‍♂️

I gotta say, this Liam Rosenior guy is a breath of fresh air 🌞💨! He's not taking himself too seriously, which is awesome. I mean, who hasn't tripped over their own feet at some point? 🤦‍♂️ It's all about how you respond to it, right? He's choosing to laugh it off and focus on having fun instead of getting all worked up about it.

I love that he's setting a positive tone for Chelsea with this whole team huddle thing 📚. It's all about creating the right culture, and if players are engaged and feeling good, they're gonna perform better. And Rosenior is totally down to earth about it too 😊. He's not one of those stuffy coaches who's gonna get all upset over a little online teasing.

And can we talk about how awesome it is that he's defending Alejandro Garnacho? 🤩 That young guy has got talent pouring out of every pore, and Rosenior is giving him the confidence boost he needs. It's not about being serious or stern; it's about trusting your players to do their jobs. Good on ya, Liam! 👏
