Winters in Franklin Square are once again illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights, transforming the historic park into a winter wonderland. The Electrical Spectacle Light Show, now back for its seasonal run, will be displayed every 30 minutes from Thursday to Sunday evenings through February 28th.
Visitors can warm up by the outdoor fire pits or indulge in hot beverages with optional spirits, while also trying their hand at street curling – a no-ice version of the Olympic sport. Those looking for some friendly competition can book a session for just $10 per hour.
Mini golfers of all ages will be treated to two unique winter-themed courses: Chilly Philly Mini Golf and its LOVE-themed counterpart. The latter, open from February 1st onwards, features miniature versions of Philadelphia landmarks alongside seasonal décor and music.
A new addition to Franklin Square's evening offerings is Frosty’s Fireside Lodge – a heated pop-up bar serving handcrafted cocktails, warm cider drinks, and seasonal snacks. Comfort food with winter-inspired twists can be enjoyed at SquareBurger during both daytime and evening hours.
Special events will also take place throughout the season, including Boozy Ben's Birthday bash on January 10-11, as well as Martin Luther King Jr. Service Weekend from January 17-19. Valentine’s-themed mini golf on February 14th and Presidents’ Day Quizzo on February 14-15 are just a couple of highlights.
Winter in Franklin Square runs daily from 10 am to 7 pm, with evening festivities taking place from 5 pm onwards. Visitors can easily access the park via PATCO or SEPTA, or opt for nearby parking options.
Franklin Square will remain open through February 28th at 6th & Race Streets in Philadelphia, PA.
