Vampire Survivors VR asks what if the bullet hell was on your face?

"Bullet Hell on Your Face": A Descent into Madness with Vampire Survivors VR

For fans of the notoriously chaotic bullet hell genre, the wait is finally over – Vampire Survivors has taken its unique brand of frenzied action to virtual reality. The $10 Meta Quest port, aptly titled Vampire Survivors VR, challenges players to navigate an endless onslaught of bullets while maintaining a precarious perch in front of their screen.

Unlike traditional games that require players to physically dodge and weave around obstacles, Vampire Survivors VR offers a more cerebral approach. Players take on the role of a vampire survivor, positioned at the top-down view of the stage, with a controller serving as their sole tool for survival. This laid-back gameplay mechanic has been employed successfully in other VR titles like Demeo.

The experience can be played comfortably seated or standing, a rare feature among VR games that often dictate specific playing styles to accommodate motion controllers and other hardware requirements. However, it's worth noting that the game is a standalone title with no cross-platform save files, effectively making any progress made in one environment irretrievable on another.

While the game has already included two expansions – Legacy of the Moonspell and Tides of the Foscari – developer Poncle has yet to announce plans for additional content or online co-op features. For those willing to endure the VR equivalent of a headache, Vampire Survivors VR is available now, with the caveat that it may be a rare experience outside of a controlled laboratory setting.

Unfortunately, there are currently no plans for future releases on other VR platforms like Steam VR or Pico.

OMG, this game sounds SO intense 🤯! I mean, who wouldn't want to survive an endless barrage of bullets in VR? 😂 It's like the movie "The Matrix" where Neo had to navigate a simulated reality... but with more blood and less cool sunglasses 😉. The fact that it can be played seated or standing is lit 🔥, though - no more awkwardly swiping controllers while trying to dodge virtual demons! 👻 But, I'm kinda disappointed they didn't announce any plans for online co-op features... what's the point of having a vampire survivor if you can't summon your squad? 🤔 Can't wait to try it out myself and see how long I last without losing my mind 💀

OMG 🤯 I just played this game and I'm still trying to process my brain from all the bullets 💥💀. I'm not really sure how people play this with a normal controller, I mean, I'd be hyperventilating by now 😂. The fact that it's just you against the screen is kinda genius though, I like how they went for a more chill approach 🤯. One thing tho, where's the online co-op? That's where the real fun would be 👫💀. Anyone else gonna give this a try? 🎮

I'm not sure why anyone would voluntarily subject themselves to this "Bullet Hell on Your Face" experience 🤯. I mean, I get that Vampire Survivors has a cult following and all, but a $10 game that's essentially just a headache-inducing exercise in futility? That's just crazy talk! 😂 And what's up with the lack of cross-platform save files? If I'm going to invest my time and money into this VR nonsense, I want to be able to play it whenever and wherever I want without worrying about losing all my progress. 🙄 The game itself is probably fine if you're into that sorta thing, but I just don't get the appeal 😒.

awww, sounds like this game is gonna be super intense lol 🤯👀 i mean who doesn't love the feeling of being overwhelmed by bullets but still managing to survive? 🎮 it's kinda cool that they included a comfy seating option tho, cuz let's be real, gaming can get pretty exhausting 😴 and i'm not sure how many ppl are gonna wanna deal with the frustration of losing progress across platforms ugh 💔 anyway, seems like the devs are keeping things pretty chill for now so if you're a vampire survivor fan, this might be the game for you 🕷️💖

omg u gotta try this vampire survivors vr its soooo intense ur just chillin at the top and bullets r flying everywhere lol 🤯🔫 i played it in my living room w/ a headset and controller and didnt feel even slightly nauseous lol that's more than i can say for most other vr games

i do wish they added some online co-op though but idk if i'd even be good at working w/ others in the midst of all this chaos 🤯😂 anyway, its $10 so like what are u gonna lose lol? 👀💸

I gotta say, I'm kinda stoked (😎) about Vampire Survivors VR being out now, even if it is super niche 🤪. I mean, who doesn't love a good bullet hell challenge? The fact that you can play it comfortably seated or standing without the need for motion controllers is pretty cool too. It's like they finally figured out how to make VR work for everyone, not just the hardcore gamers 💥.

But what really gets my goat (or should I say, what really gets my fang?) is that there are no plans for cross-platform save files 🤕. Like, if you spend hours in this game and then go to play it on your PC or another VR headset, all your progress is gone 💔. That's just messed up.

And let's be real, the fact that it's only available on Meta Quest right now is a bummer 🤦‍♂️. I know it's not like they're trying to make it exclusive or anything, but still. It'd be awesome if we saw some other VR platforms get in on the action soon 👀.

🤯 just played this game and I'm SHAKING! 🚨 Vampire Survivors VR is literally the most intense thing I've ever experienced in VR - my brain hurt from all the bullets flying around 😩. The gameplay is so unique, it's like a mix of action and strategy... I love how you can sit down or stand up while playing, that's super cool 👍. However, 10 bucks seems kinda steep for a game that doesn't have online co-op features... 🤑 still worth trying if you're a fan of bullet hell games 💥, but I'm not sure if I'll play it again soon 😐

Omg this game sounds soooo crazy 🤯! I mean i like the bullet hell genre but playing it with a controller and sitting down is kinda weird, idk if i could do that for 10 mins straight 😂. But hey if its fun to play with friends online thats awesome right? 🤝. Also why no steam vr release tho?! 🤔. Im not really sure how well this will do but i guess its cool they made it available now 👍.

I'm totally loving this new Vampire Survivors VR thing 🤯! It's like they took all the craziness from the original game and turned it into a super intense VR experience 😅. I mean, who wouldn't want to play as a vampire survivor with no way to physically move around? It's like a real-life video game... minus the physical movement part. The fact that you can play while seated or standing is pretty cool too - not many VR games offer that 🙌. But yeah, it's not without its drawbacks - no cross-platform saving and no plans for online co-op. Still, if you're up for a challenge, this game is definitely worth checking out 🔥

I don’t usually comment but I have to say, playing Vampire Survivors VR sounds like an absolute nightmare 😩. Like, who wants to play a game that's literally designed to drive you crazy with bullets coming at you from every direction? I can imagine it would be super intense and maybe even nauseating 🤯. But hey, for fans of the bullet hell genre, this might be right up their alley 💀. It’s just weird that there aren’t any plans for online co-op or save files across platforms – what’s the point of having a new VR game if you can't share it with your friends? 🤔

I'm stoked they finally dropped Vampire Survivors in VR 🤩 but I gotta say, the whole "laid-back gameplay mechanic" thing feels kinda gimmicky to me 😐 I mean, it's still a bullet hell game at its core and those levels can get INSANE 🔥. And yeah, the lack of cross-platform save files is super bummer, that's just asking too much from players, right? 🤦‍♂️ I'm also kinda surprised there are no plans for online co-op features or more expansions, considering how popular the original game was... Guess you could say it's a bit "bloodthirsty" on this front 😂👻

OMG, I'm so stoked to hear about this new game, but also kinda bummed that it's only available on Meta Quest 🤕💔. Like, isn't VR supposed to be all inclusive and stuff? Can't we just play our fave games wherever we wanna without being tied down to one specific platform? 🤷‍♀️

And yessss, the gameplay mechanic is SO COOL! I mean, who doesn't love a good ol' fashioned bullet hell challenge 😂? But seriously, it's great that they went for a more cerebral approach instead of all-out action. My brain would've totally melted trying to dodge bullets in 3D 🤯.

I'm also kinda weirded out by the fact that there's no cross-platform save files 🤔. Like, don't get me wrong, I love Poncle and all, but come on! Can't we just be able to pick up where we left off wherever we are? 💁‍♀️

Still, if you're a fan of vampire-themed games or just looking for something new to try out, then Vampire Survivors VR is def worth checking out 🎮💥. Just don't say I didn't warn you about the potential headache 😴!

Wow 🤯🎮, I'd love to try this game but $10 seems kinda steep for a VR experience... interesting how they designed it without motion controllers tho 😏💥. Can't wait to see if the 2 expansions are enough content tho 👀.

omg u gotta try dis new vampire survivors vr game 🤯 it's like playing a game while watching a wild car accident in slow motion 😂 but seriously tho the gameplay is so satisfying and relaxing at the same time lol who knew bullet hell could be chill? 🙃

VR gaming is getting weird 🤪 - I just spent 20 min playing Vampire Survivors and my face hurts 😅. $10 for the Meta Quest port? Worth it, but would be nice to play with friends 👫.

omg u guys i just tried vampire survivors vr and its literally crazy!!!! i mean idk how people do this in real life lol but in game it's so satisfying to dodge those bullets with ur controller 🤯🎮 i was a bit worried bout getting motion sickness tho but the devs did a good job makin it comfy 2 play seated or standin 👍 however i wish they included more expansions already lol legacy of the moonspell was cool but idk if its worth $10 lol and not bein able 2 share progress between platforms is kinda whack 😒

🤯 I'm so stoked to see more games coming out in VR! The gameplay sounds crazy intense, and I love that it's all about strategy and reflexes rather than just moving around in space. The fact that you can play it comfortably while seated is a total win - not everyone has the room or the desire to get up and move around while gaming.

I'm also super impressed that they included two expansions already! It's great to see developers like Poncle supporting their game with more content, even if it does mean there aren't plans for cross-platform play. And honestly, I don't think anyone can blame them for prioritizing VR exclusivity - it's such a unique experience that you just gotta have it in its own little bubble.

But yeah, the whole 'no save files across platforms' thing is a bummer... like, what even is the point of playing if you're gonna lose all your progress? 🤷‍♀️ Still, I'm excited to dive into this and see how far I can get with my vampire survival skills! 💀

OMG, I just tried out this new game and my brain hurts 😩🤯 it's like they took all the stress and anxiety from playing a real-life bullet hell and condensed it into a virtual reality experience 🚀💥. The gameplay is so chill tho, you're literally sitting there feeling like you're on top of the world, dodging bullets with your controller 💻😎 but then suddenly BAM! Your character gets hit and it's like your brain just freezes for a sec 😂

I love that they made it accessible to play both while seated and standing, it's super convenient 👍. But honestly, I'm kinda bummed there's no cross-platform save files 🤔, it's always frustrating when you make progress in one place only to lose it elsewhere.

Can't wait for more updates tho! 🤞 maybe they'll add some multiplayer co-op features or more expansions? 🤓 that would be EVERYTHING 🔥🎮

🤯 I'm still trying to wrap my head around playing a game like Vampire Survivors in VR. It's like, isn't the whole point of VR supposed to be immersive and interactive? This feels like they're just forcing me to play with a controller while staring at the screen... it's like a weird hybrid of gaming and watching a video 😴

And don't even get me started on the lack of cross-platform save files. I mean, what's the point of playing if you can't pick up where you left off on another device? It's like they're trying to make us start from scratch every time we play... not cool 🙄

I guess if you're a fan of bullet hell games or VR gaming in general, this might be your thing. But for me, it just feels like too much of a hassle 😩
