I'm not surprised to see birthdays going back to their roots 
. Honestly though, I think it's just people getting tired of all the drama and pressure to put on a show. Like, who needs an overpriced wedding venue when you can have a tiny get-together at home with your actual friends? But for real though, I'm not sure how long this trend will last. It seems like every other birthday party is suddenly going to be low-key now and that just feels like a marketing gimmick

i just had the best thought about my sister's birthday party last year she did this crazy theme where everyone had to dress up as their favorite character from childhood lol it was so cheesy but also kind of magical 
anyway back to the article yeah i totally agree with what they said about simplicity and stuff its like we get so caught up in trying to make things perfect all the time that we forget whats really important which is hanging out with people
