A young Antioch man's life was brutally cut short in 2024, leaving his family and community reeling with grief. Raheem Coe, 48, was found dead on May 15th in the 2200 block of Country Hill Drive. The Antioch Police Department has now identified a suspect in connection to the gruesome murder.
According to authorities, detectives pieced together evidence, conducted witness interviews, and reviewed surveillance footage to pinpoint Ronald Benjamin Jackson III as their top suspect. The 23-year-old's connection to Coe is not explicitly stated in the official statement; however, it appears that Jackson had been apprehended and was being held at San Quentin State Prison on unrelated charges.
The Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office took notice of the case and subsequently charged Jackson with multiple counts including murder, kidnapping, and making criminal threats. The suspect is currently being held at the Martinez Detention Facility until his next court appearance.
Detectives are urging anyone who may have information regarding this senseless crime to come forward. If you believe you can assist in solving Coe's case, contact Detective John Cox at 925-481-8147 or email [email protected]. The Antioch community is left to wonder how such a tragedy could unfold, and it remains to be seen whether Jackson will face the full extent of justice for his alleged crimes.
