Steal review – you long for Sophie Turner to triumph in this wild thriller

Sophie Turner shines as Sophie Turner's character Zara in this gripping six-part thriller. The show Steal kicks off with a suspenseful opening hour that expertly weaves together financial jiggery-pokery, violence, and deceit, all while keeping the viewer on edge. But beneath its fast-paced surface lies a thought-provoking exploration of class inequality and the insidious influence of greed in society.

As Zara's character is drawn into the world of high-stakes finance, Sophie Turner brings a nuanced depth to her portrayal, grounding her in a sense of vulnerability and resilience that makes her all the more relatable. The show masterfully uses her performance to underscore the ways in which those on the lower rungs of society are disproportionately affected by the whims of the wealthy elite.

One of the standout aspects of Steal is its thought-provoking portrayal of class inequality. By depicting a world where those at the top reap enormous rewards, while the majority are left fighting for scraps, the show paints a searing picture of a society that values profit above all else. The management committee's guaranteed bonuses and £1m annual salaries stand in stark contrast to Zara's meager pay, highlighting the vast chasm between those who have and those who do not.

As the investigation unfolds, Turner's character proves herself to be a force to be reckoned with, using her wits and resourcefulness to stay one step ahead of the villains. But even as she fights for survival, Zara remains steadfast in her commitment to justice, making her a compelling and admirable protagonist.

Steal is a thrilling ride from start to finish, with twists and turns that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. But beneath its surface-level thrills lies a thought-provoking exploration of class inequality, greed, and the human condition. With Sophie Turner delivering a standout performance at its heart, Steal is a must-watch for anyone looking for a gripping thriller with substance to match its action-packed pace.
