‘Sopranos’ star blacklisted from Hollywood over COVID vaccine stance has whole new outlook

Drea DeMatteo, the Emmy-winning actress best known for her role as Adriana La Cerva in HBO's The Sopranos, has been given a second chance at Hollywood after being blacklisted five years ago. Her stance on COVID-19 vaccines and her support of Donald Trump in 2024 led to industry friends distancing themselves from her, causing project offers to dry up.

Since then, DeMatteo has turned to alternative means to make ends meet, including launching an OnlyFans account and selling streetwear line called Ultrafree. However, it appears that she is now shifting her focus towards writing a memoir with Simon & Schuster.

In an upcoming conversation on The Ultrafree Podcast, hosted by DeMatteo, the actress will engage in unfiltered conversations with artists, dissidents, whistleblowers, and independent thinkers. While the podcast's content has yet to be revealed, sources suggest that it is expected to appeal to both MAHA-friendly and MAGA-targeted audiences.

DeMatteo expressed her intentions to reconnect with her old fanbase and some of her friends who cut ties with her over her politics, stating "I just hope to capture my old fanbase and the minds of some of my friends that were like, 'What the f**k happened to her?'".

By taking on this new project, DeMatteo is attempting to regain a footing in Hollywood after facing significant backlash for her stance on COVID-19 vaccines and her support for Donald Trump.

I gotta say, I'm kinda rooting for Drea DeMatteo 🤷‍♀️. She's been through some stuff and now she's trying to make amends with her fanbase. The fact that she's hosting a podcast that's gonna be inclusive of different perspectives is a good sign. It's not always easy to navigate the gray areas, but she seems like she's learning from her mistakes 🤔. I mean, it's not about being a "MAGA" or "MAHA"-friendly person, it's about having an open mind and respecting differing opinions. Maybe this memoir thing will be a chance for her to share her side of the story and give people a better understanding of where she's coming from 📚.

I think Drea DeMatteo making a comeback is pretty cool, considering how hard it's gonna be for her to get back into the industry! 🤝 I mean, we all make mistakes and say things that might make us regret them later... like, who hasn't been guilty of saying something stupid online at some point? 🙈

I love that she's trying to reconnect with her old fans and friends, and maybe even start a new conversation about the issues that matter to her. As long as it's not gonna be super divisive or alienate people, I think that's awesome! 💖 It takes guts to speak your mind and share your passions with others... even if they're different from what we might agree on.

OnlyFans and streetwear lines aren't exactly the most conventional paths for a Hollywood actress, but hey, she's made it work so far, right? 🤑 Now, with her podcast and memoir, I'm excited to see where this new journey takes her! 🌟

Ugh, I'm so done with Drea DeMatteo's whole situation 🤯... Five years ago she was this iconic actress, now she's been blacklisted and has to resort to OnlyFans to make ends meet? 🤑 It's like, what happened to the girl who played Adriana La Cerva on The Sopranos?!

And now she's trying to start a podcast to reconnect with her old fanbase... I get it, we all make mistakes, but come on, Drea! You took a stance on COVID-19 vaccines and supported Trump? That was like, major industry faux pas. 🤦‍♀️

But you know what really gets me is that she's trying to appeal to both sides now 🤝... Like, she thinks she can just waltz back in with her MAGA-targeted podcast and MAHA-friendly audience and suddenly everyone will be like "oh, Drea DeMatteo again"? Please. We all deserve better than a half-baked attempt at being bi-partisan. 💁‍♀️

And honestly, I'm still trying to figure out what she's hoping to achieve with this whole memoir thing... Is it just a PR stunt to get her name back in the game? 📚 Because if that's the case, then sorry Drea, but we're not buying it.

so DeMatteo's trying to make amends by talking about all sorts of people and ideas 🤔... it's kinda like she's doing some damage control on her own podcast, but I need to see what's really going on here 🎙️... is this just a PR stunt or does she actually have some interesting stories to share? 📚 also, how many MAHA-friendly and MAGA-targeted audiences is "appealing" gonna cost? 💸

🤷‍♂️ so drea dematteo's trying to make a comeback by being all 'unfiltered' and 'inclusive'? 🙄 like, isn't that just code for "i'm still gonna say whatever i want regardless of what anyone else thinks"? 📚 her memoir is probably gonna be a bestseller... or a total flop 🤦‍♀️. and honestly, who's surprised she's trying to appeal to both sides? it's like she thinks she can just check the right boxes on her 'I'm a cool person' list 💁‍♀️. anyway, i'll definitely be tuning in to see if she can actually back up her words 💬
