Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked Event is Expected to Bring Exciting Updates for 2026

At CES 2026, Samsung has been making headlines with its new foldable phones, ultra-thin form factor, and the launch of Google's XR platform. Now, it's time for the company to reveal what's in store for its latest flagship series, which is expected to include the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

In February 2026, Samsung will host its first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year, and fans are eagerly waiting for the big reveal. According to recent leaks and rumors, here's what we can expect from Samsung's latest lineup.

Design
The new Galaxy S26 series is expected to retain a similar design to the Galaxy S25, with a flat front screen and frame, rounded corners, and cameras housed in a vertical pill-shaped plateau on the back. The phones will not have a radical redesign like Apple's move from iPhone 16 Pro to iPhone 17 Pro.

Internal Components
The new series is expected to feature Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, while Korean news site Yonhap News reports that Samsung's relatively new Exynos 2600 chip could be used in some phones depending on the region.

This means the new phones should be more performant than the previous generation, particularly for models with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Screen and Cameras
The Galaxy S26 is expected to feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch FHD+ display compared to its predecessor's 6.2-inch screen. The phone will also allegedly come with 12GB of RAM, either 256GB or 512GB of storage, and a larger 4,300mAh battery.

The cameras are not expected to change much on the entry-level Galaxy S26, but leaks suggest that they may improve slightly for the new models.

Galaxy S26 Ultra
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to have some significant upgrades compared to its predecessor. According to Android Headlines, the new phone's cameras will be more prominent, and stand out thanks to a new metallic finish.

Additionally, rumors suggest that Samsung will remove the S Pen digitizer layer in the phone and adopt a new method for accepting stylus input.

There are also reports that Samsung may switch back to using an aluminum frame on the Galaxy S26 Ultra after using titanium frames on both the Galaxy S24 and S25 Ultras.

I think its cool that Samsung is sticking with what works, not trying to revolutionize their design like Apple does every year . The fact that they're upgrading to a new Snapdragon chip is definitely exciting for performance, but I'm not sure if the Exynos 2600 chip is necessarily better... IDK, might just be regional thing . And 12GB of RAM? That's a bit steep, even for power users . On the other hand, the cameras on the Galaxy S26 Ultra sound like they're gonna get some serious upgrades . Removing that S Pen layer and adopting a new stylus method could be really interesting, but I'm not sure how it'll work out in practice .

I don’t usually comment but I gotta say, if they go with the Exynos 2600 chip in some phones, it's a bit weird that Samsung is using different chips for different regions . Like, isn't that just gonna confuse people who are trying to buy from multiple places? Can't we just have one standard chip or something?

I'm so hyped for the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event ! I've been following all these leaks and rumors, and it seems like Samsung is bringing some serious upgrades to their latest flagship series . The new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip is going to give me so much gaming power , and I love that they're considering using the Exynos 2600 chip in some regions too .

But what really got me excited is the rumored change on the Galaxy S26 Ultra . A new metallic finish on the cameras? That sounds insane! And ditching the S Pen digitizer layer for stylus input? Game-changer, am I right? I'm also curious to see if they'll go back to aluminum frames like we had with the previous Ultras .

I'm a bit worried that the entry-level Galaxy S26 might not bring as many upgrades as I'd like . 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB storage is nice, but what about more camera megapixels? Still, I trust Samsung to deliver some amazing tech, so I'll just have to wait until February !
