Report Shows Massive Increase in Iranian Bitcoin Adoption Amid Nationwide Unrest

🤔 So I'm reading this about how Bitcoin adoption is going crazy in Iran right now... like, 262% increase in withdrawals over $10k into self-custodial wallets! It's wild. I mean, you've got these protests happening everywhere and people are just turning to crypto as a way out? It makes sense, I guess - the rial value has collapsed and traditional channels aren't working for anyone.

But what's crazy is that it's not just the regular folks using Bitcoin, it's actually some of the government accounts too... like, the IRGC is doing some shady stuff with crypto. 🤑 And at the same time, we've got these decentralized apps popping up in Iran, even though they're kinda sketchy. It's like, people are finding ways to work around the system, but not always in a good way.

I think what this says about us as a society is that we're still pretty far from having true financial freedom... especially if you're living in a country with strict controls. Bitcoin might be decentralized and all that, but it's also super volatile and not exactly user-friendly for the average person. Still, I guess it's better than nothing? 🤷‍♀️
