People in the UK: tell us if you've borrowed money from friends or family

I'm getting a bit worried about all these people relying on their loved ones for financial help 🤕. My sister just told me she had to ask her parents for £500 last month because she couldn't pay her rent on time. She's been working two jobs, but clearly the system isn't working for everyone. I get it, we've all been there at some point, but now it's becoming a norm? 🤔 How are people supposed to plan for their future when they're constantly having to borrow from those closest to them? It can't be good for relationships either... my friend's brother borrowed money from his sibling and now they barely speak. Debt is bad enough, but the emotional toll of it all? 😕

its so sad that people have to resort to borrowing from their loved ones like its a last resort, but for some its just the only option 😔... i know someone who took out a buy now pay later loan and now they cant afford to pay it back, its really causing them stress 🤯... but at the same time, i also see why people would do this if they have no other choice... family and friends can be a lifeline in times of need ❤️... but yeah its gotta be super hard to repay debt to those you care about 😬

I think it's really concerning that people are turning to their loved ones for financial help when things get tough 🤔. I mean, we've all been there at some point or another, but relying on family and friends is not a sustainable solution in the long run. It can lead to a lot of stress and tension, especially if you're unable to pay back the debt 🤑. And it's even more worrying when you think about those who are struggling to make ends meet on zero-hours contracts or low-paid work - they already have a tough time getting by 💸. We need to find better solutions for people in these situations, like more affordable credit options or financial support from the government 🤝.

I feel like we're living in a world where everyone's got a price tag on their relationships 🤑. Like, yeah, friends and family should be there for each other, but when it comes down to cash, things get weird. I've seen people borrow from others just because they can't get a loan from anywhere else - it's like, what do you do when the system fails you? 🤷‍♀️ And then there's the emotional part... losing trust or feeling guilty about taking advantage of someone you love is no joke 💔.
