I'm getting a bad vibe from this news ... like, what's going on with these US policy shifts? One minute they're all about denuclearizing and cooperating with Seoul, next thing you know, it's about "alliance modernization" and handing over responsibility to South Korea. I get that they wanna support our friends in the region, but at what cost? It feels like we're just being left high and dry on North Korea's nukes... and now they're not even addressing that in this new policy doc ? What are they really prioritizing here?
omg u guys i cant even... so the pentagon is like "hey south korea handle ur own defence" now and im not sure wut 2 think about it north korea is still out there nuking away & south korea is all "ok we got this" but honestly its kinda concerning that they dont wanna rely on the US as much anymore. i mean america has been there for them 4 years now w/ troops & stuff... didnt think they were gonna just up & leave
I'm low-key worried about this policy shift . I mean, we're already dealing with enough stress on the peninsula what if things go south? I get that the US wants to modernize its alliance with Seoul, but is it really worth undermining our own defense capabilities in the process? We've come so far since 2017 and now it seems like we're taking a step back. I'm not sure what's more concerning - the lack of mention about denuclearization or the fact that China's getting more attention. Can't we have both?
