Former Chelsea and Brazil midfielder Oscar is in stable condition in hospital after falling ill with a heart issue. The 34-year-old was experiencing cardiac changes while undergoing physical testing at Sao Paulo's training centre on Tuesday before collapsing and being taken to the Einstein Hospital Israelita for treatment.
Oscar, who started his career at Sao Paulo, returned to the Brazilian side last December on a three-year deal running until 2027 after spending eight years playing in China. After falling ill, Oscar was given medical attention by Sao Paulo's professionals and the hospital team before being admitted to the hospital.
He underwent physical testing as part of his preparation for the new season when he suddenly felt unwell and collapsed, reportedly for two minutes.
Oscar is now considering retirement amid his health scare.
