Oscar: Ex-Chelsea and Brazil midfielder in hospital after falling unwell with heart issue

Former Chelsea and Brazil midfielder Oscar is in stable condition in hospital after falling ill with a heart issue. The 34-year-old was experiencing cardiac changes while undergoing physical testing at Sao Paulo's training centre on Tuesday before collapsing and being taken to the Einstein Hospital Israelita for treatment.

Oscar, who started his career at Sao Paulo, returned to the Brazilian side last December on a three-year deal running until 2027 after spending eight years playing in China. After falling ill, Oscar was given medical attention by Sao Paulo's professionals and the hospital team before being admitted to the hospital.

He underwent physical testing as part of his preparation for the new season when he suddenly felt unwell and collapsed, reportedly for two minutes.

Oscar is now considering retirement amid his health scare.

😬 I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Oscar's speedy recovery 🀞! But it's hard not to think about all the what-ifs... 34 is still pretty young, but if he can't play at this level anymore, does it even matter? πŸ€” I mean, he's had an incredible career so far, and he's still getting paid to do what he loves – playing football! πŸ’Έ But on the other hand, his health has to be the priority. Can you blame him if he decides to call it a day? The thought of risking further complications is just too much... πŸ€•

I don’t usually comment but I gotta say, it's really scary when you hear about someone having a heart issue, especially if they're not that old. Like, 34 years young πŸ’ͺ. You never know what can happen to your body, right? And now with the whole heart scare thing, it's like, is retirement gonna be an option for him now? πŸ€” I mean, you gotta take care of yourself, especially when you're still active and playing sports. It's not like he's just gonna stop playing because he had a little health scare... but at the same time, his body might be telling him it's time to slow down πŸ˜•. Either way, my wishes are with Oscar for a speedy recovery πŸ’«!

πŸ€• poor guy needs a break from football anyway... 34 isn't old, but maybe it's time to hang up those boots? heart issues are no joke tho, glad he's stable πŸ™. think its crazy how fast a physical test can go downhill, especially when you're already pushing your body hard πŸ’ͺ. anyway, wish him all the best, and if retirement is what he wants, who are we to argue? 8 years in china was a wild ride lol... guess that's what they mean by "experienced" 🀣

πŸ€• can't believe what happened to Oskar 😱 he's only 34 still so young but the game takes its toll sometimes gotta respect the medical staff who got him back on track at sao paulo and then got him stabilised in hospital πŸ’Š hope his heart is good as new now and not gonna be a career changer for him but if it is... might just make sense πŸ˜” retirement would be tough for him tho, he's only getting started πŸ€”

Ugh, I'm literally shaking my head over this news πŸ€•... like, can't we take care of our athletes properly? First, it's the fitness trackers that don't work right, then the training sessions that are too intense, and now this πŸ™„... poor Oscar! Heart issues at 34 is just crazy. I'm glad he's stable tho πŸ’‰. Retirement is a serious option for him, and honestly, who can blame him? Eight years in China didn't exactly prepare him for Brazilian football, so maybe it's time for a change of pace πŸ”„. But still, sad to see someone with his skills struggling like this πŸ˜”... need to get the medical professionals to step up their game πŸ’―!

πŸ˜“πŸ₯ oh man i cant even think about oscars future on the pitch its all about his health first πŸ€žπŸ’• he's been through so much in his career and to have this happen now is just devastating πŸ˜” i mean who needs a 3-year deal if u dont feel 100% on ur feet πŸ‘£πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ saopaulo and brazil are gonna miss him so much πŸ€— but if he decides to retire it's not like hes done anything wrong πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ we just wanna see him happy and healthy πŸ’–

ugh, this is so worrying πŸ€•. sports stars are already under so much pressure and stress from their games and careers, and then they have to deal with serious health issues like this? it's crazy how suddenly your body can just give out on you πŸ’”. i hope oscar gets the best treatment possible and recovers fully, but at the same time, it's also making me think about the toll that sports takes on people's bodies... maybe we need to rethink the way we approach athlete wellness and safety? 🀝

oh no πŸ€• hope oscar recovers fully from this heart issue... like what exactly happened during that physical testing? was it a sudden blood pressure drop or something? i'm guessing he's not gonna be able to play for brazil anymore, which is sad 'cause he's such a talented player πŸ†. retirement at 34 is pretty young, but if his health is the priority then that's what needs to happen. does sao paulo have any plans to help him recover or will he just stay away from football? πŸ€”

man... 34 and already thinkin about hangin' up the boots πŸ€• this heart thing got him bad, its like his body's sayin "hold up, slow down" πŸ›‘οΈ but at the same time its like hes questionin what he really wants to do with his life, is it worth puttin all that stress on his heart? 🀯 and then theres the fact that hes in a phase of his life where he can choose his own path, hes not stuck in some contract or team pressure anymore πŸ’₯ so yeah, retirement could be an option but its also like hes missin out on somethin... is it time to pass the torch? 🌟

omg this is so worrisome, a heart issue at 34 is not something to be taken lightly... i was watching some highlights of his game last season and he looked fine, but you never know what's going on behind the scenes πŸ€•. eight years in china must've taken its toll on him physically or mentally, it's not like he just magically came back strong after that time off. three years might seem a lot now, but if he's considering retirement over this... i feel bad for sao paulo and brazil too, they need him right now πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. the hospital team did everything they could, but sometimes these things happen no matter how prepared you are πŸ’”.

😞 just heard about Oscar's heart issue πŸ€• and I'm super worried for him πŸ€—. 34 is pretty young to deal with a heart problem 😬. I wish him the best of luck with his recovery πŸ’ͺ, but it's also making me think about my own health goals πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ. Maybe this is the wake-up call I need to prioritize self-care? πŸ’†β€β™‚οΈ Anyway, hope he makes a speedy comeback on the pitch ⚽️!

πŸ˜” just heard about Oscar πŸ˜• that's super scary for any athlete. his journey to recovery πŸ™ gotta be tough but he's still stable which is a huge relief 🌟 think about all the players who didn't get the chance to finish their career due to heart issues... it gives me hope that with modern medicine, people can recover from these things πŸ’Š. also, 34 isn't old for an athlete! he should take care of himself more πŸ’ͺ and make a plan to enjoy the rest of his life after football πŸŽ‰

omg what a shock! i feel so bad 4 him 😱 he's only 34 and already having major heart issues 🀯 that's like, super scary 2 think about it tbh. i hope he gets better ASAP πŸ’• u know, people always talk about how players are so tough on the pitch but when they get hurt off it... different story 😴. retire now? idk man, 8 yrs in china doesn't mean he has 2 hang up his boots πŸ™„ still gotta wanna play 4 the love of it πŸ’–

oh man that's a crazy thing to happen 😱, i mean he was just getting back into shape for the new season and then BAM! heart issues show up out of nowhere. i can imagine how scary it must've been for him and his team 🀯. i feel bad for him having to go through this, especially since he's already made a huge commitment to play for Brazil again.

i'm not surprised though, the physical demands of professional soccer are insane πŸ’ͺ. i remember when i was playing recreational soccer in high school, we'd get winded after like 20 minutes of play. can you imagine doing it every week for years on end? it's no wonder he might be thinking about retirement πŸ€”.

but at the same time, it's awesome that he's being proactive and getting checked out ASAP πŸ’Š. i just hope his health holds up from now on and he can enjoy the rest of his playing career without any major setbacks 😊.

man... hope he gets better soon 🀞 that heart issue can be serious i feel bad for him, wasnt expected to see this news, 34 is still young though, maybe he'll find a way to bounce back ⏱️ think about all the things he wants to do on his retirement list now too πŸ“

.. can't believe what happened to Oscar πŸ€•πŸ˜·. I mean, 34 years old and still giving it a go, but this heart issue? That's scary stuff πŸ’”. He must've been doing something right to make it to that point, though - all those years playing in China for a good chunk of his career... I don't know if anyone can do that without taking some kind of risk πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

Now he's stuck with this decision about retirement... part of me thinks he should just hang up the boots, but at the same time, he's got another three years left on his contract. Can't blame him for wanting to see it out, I guess πŸ˜”. Fingers crossed he gets back to full health and can make a comeback 🀞.
