Mayor Adams hosts secret reception with Albanian leaders at Gracie Mansion

so theres this mayor eric adams from new york city who threw a secret party at his mansion last week for some albanian officials and community members... thats kinda weird coz usually stuff like that is all about publicity but he kept it super low-key .

anyway, hes been trying to make friends with albania since last year when he visited them and now hes got a close relationship going on with the deputy minister of foreign affairs megi fino . not sure what his game plan is but its pretty interesting how city hall wont release anything about whats he said at that party... probably dont wanna mess with his image .

adams has been saying he wants to work for other countries after being mayor and thats true but the US didnt officially send an ambassador to albania till now so diplomatic stuff is a bit mixed . guess we'll just have to wait and see what this new friendship does

Omg I'm so confused about this secret party . First, Adams is super close to Albania and then BAM, he's hosting a private reciept that wasn't even publicly announced till Gothamist asked? And why did City Hall not release the transcript of his speech? Like, what were they hiding?

And can we talk about how this party was all secretive and last minute? I mean, isn't that kinda suspicious? Adams has been saying he wants to work for foreign governments after being mayor, but now it looks like he's already getting cozy with Albanian officials behind our backs .

I'm also kinda annoyed that City Hall didn't release the transcript of his speech. Like, isn't transparency a thing? Adams has had some controversy in the past too, but I guess you could say this party was just more "private" than usual . Anyway, hope we get some answers on this one

Ugh I'm really not getting why Adams can't just be open about what's going on at these events? Like, if he's trying to build relationships with foreign governments, shouldn't we know what he's saying? It feels super sketchy that the City Hall is hiding his remarks. What's good? I'm saying, people need to chill about Mayor Adams' relationship with Albania. Like, it's not a big deal that he had a private meeting at Gracie Mansion. It's not like he's getting paid by the Albanians or something . And yeah, City Hall didn't release the transcript of his remarks, but who cares? He's still doing what he thinks is best for NYC.

And let's be real, Adams has been in some pretty sketchy situations before (remember those flight upgrade charges?). But he's turned out okay, right? He's still got his job and he's making moves. It's not like Albania is trying to get the better of him or anything .
