A violent confrontation unfolded at a Manhattan subway station yesterday, leaving one man seriously injured. The incident occurred during a dispute between two men on an L train, which spilled over onto the platform of the Union Square stop.

According to authorities, officers responded to a 911 call shortly after 10am for a person stabbed on the platform. Upon arrival, police found a 45-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds to his back. The alleged attacker was reportedly wearing a black coat and fled the scene on an L train before being apprehended.

The injured man, identified as a 45-year-old, was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, officials confirmed. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the altercation, but it appears that both parties were involved in a heated dispute prior to the violent incident.
