A critically injured man was found Thursday night in Washington Park after a shot rang out. According to authorities, the victim, whose age has not been disclosed, was discovered at 8:41 p.m. in the first block of East Garfield Boulevard lying face down with a gunshot wound in his chest.
Police officers were summoned to the scene and took the man into custody immediately, though no further details have been released about the suspect's identity or condition. The victim has been rushed to University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment and is currently listed as being in critical condition.
As investigations are ongoing, police officials at this time, had not taken anyone into custody in connection with the incident.

and I gotta say it's crazy how quickly life can change. One minute you're enjoying a night out with friends or just chillin' alone, the next you're lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. It's like, what even is that? 
Take care of each other, look out for those around us... that's the way to live.
