Larian Studios is returning to the Divinity series with... Divinity

Larian Studios is reviving the Divinity series with its latest game, which promises to be the biggest and most ambitious one yet. The studio's upcoming project was unveiled at this year's Game Awards, leaving fans eagerly anticipating more details.

The decision to revive the series follows a five-year gap since Larian released "Divinity: Original Sin II" in 2017, which solidified its reputation as a developer of exceptional RPGs. However, the company took a break from the beloved franchise to focus on "Baldur's Gate III," another highly-acclaimed release that earned it Game of the Year honors.

Rumors had been circulating about a new Divinity game in recent months, fueled by an image of a statue erected in the Mojave Desert, which matched a recently-trademarked logo. The reveal at the Game Awards was met with excitement, as a live performance took place featuring actors being hoisted into the air before a trailer that promised to be intense and thought-provoking.

The trailer itself is characterized by its dark and gruesome tone, drawing comparisons to "The Wicker Man." Without giving too much away, it's clear that Larian Studios has outdone itself in crafting a narrative that will leave players unsettled and invested. However, the release window for the game remains under wraps at this time.

Game enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting more information on the upcoming Divinity title, which promises to offer "more breadth and depth than ever before." With its track record of delivering exceptional RPGs, Larian Studios is well-positioned to exceed expectations with its next project.

Ugh I'm so hyped for this new game!!! 🤩 The fact that they took 5 years off from the series just to focus on another great project (Baldur's Gate III) shows me they're not afraid to take risks and put their fans first 🙌. And can we talk about how epic the trailer was?! 😲 That dark tone is giving me chills! I love that it's drawing comparisons to The Wicker Man, that's like a sign of greatness for me 🎥. The fact that they're promising more breadth and depth than ever before makes me so excited to dive back into the world of Rivellon 💖. Fingers crossed it'll be out soon so I can start speculating about all the plot twists 🔮

This news has me stoked! 🤩 I've been waiting for a new Divinity game for ages, but 5 years is a long time to be MIA. I'm loving the dark and gruesome tone of the trailer - it's definitely going to be intense. But, I gotta say, it feels a bit ambitious considering they took on "Baldur's Gate III" before diving back into Divinity. Are they trying to outdo themselves? Either way, Larian Studios has always been known for their exceptional RPGs, so I'm confident this game is going to be something special 🤔.

🤔 I'm so hyped for this new Divinity game! It's been a while since we last had a new installment, and it feels like Larian's been waiting for the right moment to bring us something epic. That trailer did give me some serious chills 😱... it looks like they're really pushing the boundaries with this one. I've always loved how immersive their games are, and if this is going to be just as deep, I'm all in. Can't wait to see more of what they have planned 🎮

I'm super excited about this new Divinity game 🤩! As a parent who's had to deal with their kid being hooked on games for hours on end (it's true, kids can be addictive!), I know how much hype and anticipation can build up around a new release. And let me tell you, Larian Studios has set the bar high with this one! 🌟 The dark and gruesome tone is quite eerie, but in a good way? 😱 My kid would love the intense action and thought-provoking storyline, but I'll have to keep an eye on their gaming habits to make sure it doesn't get out of hand. 😉 One thing's for sure, this game is going to be HUGE! 🤯 Can't wait to see more details and get my hands on it when it drops! 👊

omg u guys I got the scoop behind the scenes 🤫, so apparently larian studios has been working on this divinity game for like 3 years now and it's going to be a total mind blower 🤯. they wanted to take their time to get it right and not rush it like they did with dosh (imo) but trust me when i say its gonna be WORTH IT 💥. the dark and gruesome tone is definitely a departure from what we're used to in divinity, but lets be real, larian is all about pushing boundaries 😈. cant wait for more info and release date btw 🤞

omg u guys!!! i'm low-key hyped 4 the new divinity game!! larian studios has been on a roll w/ divinity: original sin ii & baldur's gate iii... they're like the rpg gods or somethin! 🤯 the trailer looked sooo dark & intense, i'm already gettin the wicker man vibes lol. can't wait 4 more deets tho! release window is still a mystery, but i trust larian to deliver something epic... fingers crossed it's out this year? 🤞

omg u guys i'm SO stoked about this new divinity game lol larian studios has always been known for creating these super immersive rpg experiences and now they're reviving the series like 5 years after original sin 2 which was already a masterpiece in my opinion 💖 it looks like they've outdone themselves with this new one though, that trailer had me shook 😱 dark and gruesome tone is not usually my thing but i'm down to try it out if it's as thought-provoking as everyone says 🤯 release date still hasn't been announced tho fingers crossed it'll be soon so we can all get our divinity fix again 🎮

I'm low-key hyped for this new Divinity game 🤯! I mean, 5 years since the last one was out and now we're getting a game that's supposed to be even bigger and more ambitious? That's some serious hype right there 🔥. And can we talk about how dark and intense the trailer looked? Like, I'm not afraid of a little gore and disturbing themes in my games... actually, bring it on! 😈. The fact that Larian took their time to focus on Baldur's Gate III shows they're not slapping the Divinity name on something half-baked. This one's got potential to be a real masterpiece 💥

😊 just saw the trailer for this new Divinity game and OMG it's so dark and gritty! 👻 larian studios really knows how to deliver a narrative that'll keep you on the edge of your seat. 5 years is a long time coming but I'm hyped now. 🤩 the image of the statue in the mojave desert was creepy too, feels like something straight outta a movie. 💀 i love how it's getting compared to the wicker man, that's some serious horror vibes! 😱 can't wait for more info on the release window and what kind of gameplay we can expect... maybe a party-based rpg with some crazy mechanics? 🤔

lol what's up with the dark and gruesome tone? are they trying to set a new standard for 'don't watch this alone'? anyway i'm hyped for more divinity (finally) and larian's track record speaks for itself - if anyone can do it justice, they're the ones. 5 year hiatus is kinda long though... hope they've got some sweet DLCs lined up
