L.A.’s Best December Restaurant Openings

Los Angeles is closing out 2025 with a flurry of new restaurant openings that will undoubtedly spice up the dining scene. For those who missed them, some notable newcomers from earlier this month include Holy Basil, which finally debuted in Santa Monica after months of anticipation, and Max and Helen's, Phil Rosenthal's joint venture with Nancy Silverton. Despite being met with long lines and wait times exceeding two hours per day, the duo's restaurant has been attracting crowds eager to try their offerings.

Additionally, Paradise Dynasty added its signature multicolored xiao long bao to Glendale's Americana, while The Mulberry brought a unique Korean bistro experience to Sawtelle. These new additions join a growing list of innovative eateries in the city that are pushing culinary boundaries.

As December gets underway, Los Angeles will be treated to even more exciting openings from Last Word Hospitality, with its latest concept Hermon's taking center stage. Also, Los Feliz can look forward to Vandell, a hip cocktail bar promising an immersive experience near Highland Park. Furthermore, Tex-Mex favorite HomeState is expanding to Santa Monica, while Robata Jinya will be serving comforting Japanese fare in Hollywood.

Whether you're in the mood for classic French cuisine on West 3rd or something more avant-garde near Highland Park, these new restaurants are sure to offer an unforgettable dining experience. With so many options available, there's never been a better time to explore and discover the diverse culinary landscape of Los Angeles.

🍴💖 I'm so down for trying out Holy Basil in Santa Monica! I mean, months of anticipation is a big deal - it must be hella good 😎. And can we talk about how amazing it is that LA has this incredible food scene? I love how it's not just one or two new spots, but like, a whole wave of innovative eateries popping up everywhere 🌊🍴. The fact that they're pushing culinary boundaries and offering so many different vibes is what makes me so stoked about trying out all these new places... and with Last Word Hospitality having Hermon's, I'm sure it'll be a wild ride! 💥

Just tried out Holy Basil in Santa Monica 🤗 and I gotta say, it was love at first bite! The menu is super unique and creative, but not too complicated for my taste 😊. Their small plates are all around $20-$30 each, which seems pretty reasonable considering the portions are generous. I'm a big fan of their Thai-inspired dishes, especially the green papaya salad 🌶️. The atmosphere's nice too, modern-chic decor and a cozy vibe 💺. Worth braving the long lines for 👍

Ugh I'm so done with LA's food scene right now 🤯 it feels like every new restaurant that opens is somehow more Instagrammable than the last one. I mean don't get me wrong, I love trying new foods and all, but can we just have a chill dining experience for once? Like no lines or wait times over an hour... 😩

omg i'm so stoked for the new restaurant openings in LA this month 🤩! it's like, the food scene is getting even more lit 🔥 with all these fresh spots popping up everywhere. i mean, holy basil finally opened up in santa monica after months of anticipation and phil rosenthal's joint venture with nancy silverton has been getting rave reviews - those long lines are worth it, right? 😂 i'm also loving the addition of paradise dynasty's xiao long bao to glendale's americana and hermon's taking center stage from last word hospitality... it's like, the more options we have for good food, the better 🤝. santa monica is getting a new tex-mex spot too which is always a win in my book 🌯. overall, i'm super excited to try out these new restaurants and see what all the fuss is about 🍴👍

Another year in LA means even more overpriced food spots 🤯. I mean, who needs that much time waitin' for a table? But hey, if people wanna spend their money on fancy meals, that's their prerogative. As long as they're supportin' local businesses and creatin' jobs for the community, I'm good with it 💸. Just hope they don't mess up the vibe of the area with too many tourists 🏙️.

Man I'm literally dyin' over all the new foodie spots comin' out in LA right now! 🤯 From Holy Basil to Max & Helen's, every place is bringin' somethin' new to the table...or in this case, the tablecloth 😂. The wait times are crazy though, I mean 2 hours a day is no joke! But hey, if it means gettin' that perfect plate of xiao long bao or a good ol' fashioned Tex-Mex fix, I'm down 🤷‍♂️. Sawtelle's got some awesome Korean vibes goin' on and I'm stoked to try Hermon's at Last Word Hospitality, sounds like an immersive experience 👀. LA's really comin' up in the culinary game and I'm here for it! 💯

🍴 i'm loving all these new food spots popping up in LA... max & helen's sounds like an amazing collab btw phil rosenthal and nancy silverton 🤩. but what really got me thinking is how they managed to create this hype with only two hours wait times daily? that's some serious dedication from the team 🙏. anyway, i'm definitely going to have to check out hermon's and vandell soon... last word hospitality seems to be bringing the heat 🔥

Ugh, I'm so glad I got to try Holy Basil before it got all crowded 🤯. I mean, Phil Rosenthal and Nancy Silverton are legends in the food scene, but those wait times were crazy! I was literally waiting for over an hour just to get a table. But trust me, it's worth it. Their dishes are insane! And have you tried their take on Chinese food? Game changer 🤩.

I'm also super stoked about Paradise Dynasty and The Mulberry. Xiao long bao is my jam 🍴. I've been meaning to check out Hermon's from Last Word Hospitality, sounds really interesting. And HomeState in Santa Monica is a great addition to the Tex-Mex scene. They better not mess it up though 😂.

The thing about LA food right now is that there's just so many options, you can go anywhere and find something amazing. It's like, what even is wrong with having too much choice? 🤪 Anyway, I'm excited to see what the rest of 2025 has in store for us! 👌

I'm stoked about all the new restaurants popping up in LA! 🤩 It's amazing how much diversity you can find in one city, from Korean bistro vibes to French fine dining. I've heard great things about Holy Basil and Max & Helen's, but the wait times are crazy 😅. I'm curious to try HomeState's Tex-Mex expansion and Robata Jinya's Japanese comfort food. Sawtelle's The Mulberry looks like a hidden gem too 🤫. With so many options, it feels like LA is really pushing the culinary boundaries and offering something for everyone. Can't wait to explore and find my new fave spot! 🍴
