Health officials warn public after coyote injures person in Warwick Township

A person in Warwick Township is being treated for injuries sustained after coming into contact with a coyote, prompting health officials to issue a public warning.

According to the Chester County Health Department, the incident occurred on Sunday along Warwick Furnace Road. While details about the nature and severity of the injury are scarce, officials confirmed that the animal caused "perforation of the skin."

The department is urging residents not to attempt to catch or interact with the coyote, as its status regarding rabies is currently unknown. The Pennsylvania Game Commission has been deployed to locate the animal, setting traps at its last known location.

Residents in Warwick and East Nantmeal townships are advised to report any sightings of a coyote behaving abnormally or aggressively to the game commission's dispatch line at 1-833-PGC-WILD. Meanwhile, anyone who has come into contact with the coyote is being asked to contact the health department at 610-344-6225 for guidance.

To date, there have been no reported additional encounters with the coyote in the area.

🐺 Coyotes are like unexpected twists in life, can't we just let them live their best wild lives instead of trying to control or interact with them? It's like when life throws us a curveball, we gotta learn to roll with it and not try to tackle it head-on. Sometimes the best thing is to step back, observe from a distance, and trust that the universe has got this 🌟

Ugh, this news is all over the place 🀯. Can't they just give us a straightforward warning without all these extra details? Like, what's the point of saying it caused "perforation of the skin" if we can't even get an estimate on how bad the wound was? And what's with the coyote being in Warwick Township in the first place? Are there that many coyotes roaming around PA now?! 🐺🏠. And don't even get me started on the health department's number... 610-344-6225? That's just a bunch of random digits if you ask me. Can't they at least give us a toll-free hotline like everyone else? 😩 Anyway, yeah, coyote alert, got it. Next thing you know, they'll be warning us about deer and squirrels 🐰🌳.

OMG, gotta be super careful out there right now 🦊😬! I mean, you're literally just walking down the street and BAM! Coyote attack 😱! Perforation of the skin? That's crazy talk... no mercy to that poor person πŸ’”. The health department is being super responsible by saying we don't know if it has rabies or not 🀝. I totally get why they're setting traps - gotta keep the community safe, you know? Anyway, just keep an eye out for any weird coyote behavior and report it ASAP!

You know what's wild? I was thinking about trying my hand at beekeeping last weekend... had all this equipment and gear ready to go, but then it started pouring rain 😊. Now I'm all like "bees don't care about rain" right? Still might try it out next time, though! Guess that means I should probably check the weather forecast before heading out on a beekeeping adventure 🌞🐝

this just got crazy 🀯 I mean, a person gets hurt from a coyote and suddenly it's like a public warning? seems fishy to me... what if this is more than just a random animal attack? what if it's some kinda experiment or something? 🐺 I'm not saying it's not real, but I think we need to dig deeper here. why are the health officials being so secretive about the nature of the injury? and what's with the Pennsylvania Game Commission deploying traps in the area? sounds like they're hiding something... πŸ€”

oh man this is crazy! πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ I'm not surprised they're being cautious about rabies though, those things can be super unpredictable. I live near Philly and we had a similar situation last year... it was a wild encounter to say the least 😬 anyway, I get why they're keeping an eye on this coyote - safety first, right? πŸ™ the game commission is doing their part to track it down, but I hope they can find it soon so people don't have to deal with any more stress 😩

πŸΊπŸ’‰ oh man this is crazy a coyote attacking someone is so not normal I think it's super irresponsible of people to go around handling wildlife like they're pets or something πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ we should be respecting animals' space and not trying to catch them unless we're trained professionals πŸ’― the health department is doing the right thing by warning everyone about potential rabies transmission but still gotta feel bad for that person who got hurt πŸ€• hope they recover quickly

Y'all gotta be careful out there right now 🐺🚨! I mean, i heard about this coyote thingy on socials and it's making me nervous πŸ˜…. Like, what if it's rabid or something? 🀒 They're saying not to mess with it at all, but i'm like "what if i see it wandering around my yard?" πŸ πŸ’¦. I hope the game commission can find it quickly and get it taken care of soon πŸ’ͺ. And yeah, it's always good to keep an eye out for those coyotes in our area πŸŒ³πŸ‘€. My mom would freak out if she knew i was just gonna be walking around thinking about this thing πŸ˜‚.

Ugh, just what we need more wildlife drama πŸ™„. So some poor dude gets mauled by a coyote and now we're all supposed to be like "oh no, rabies is a thing" 🦊. I mean, I get it, health officials are trying to be cautious, but come on, can't they just tell us whether the guy is gonna live or not? The suspense is killing me πŸ˜‚.

And what's with the 1-833-PGC-WILD number? Who comes up with this stuff? It sounds like a bad sketch from Saturday Night Live 🀣. "If you see a coyote, call 1-833-PGC-WILD... or just stay inside and lock all your doors, I guess" πŸ˜‚.

On the bright side, at least we can take comfort in knowing that our local wildlife is getting some attention πŸ’―. The Game Commission's deploying traps and stuff, so maybe they'll catch this guy before it decides to host a coyote party πŸŽ‰. Fingers crossed for our furry friend (not) πŸ€ͺ

omg can u imagine getting bitten by a coyote 🐺😱 that's so scary! i feel bad for the person who got injured and their family has to deal with all this stress πŸ˜“ anyway, i think its good that the health department is warning people about rabies, bc thats super serious stuff πŸ’‰ gotta be careful out there esp if u have pets 🐾 they should really catch that coyote ASAP 🚨 1-833-PGC-WILD sounds like a helpful number lol πŸ“ž

OMG, I'm like totally freaked out about this coyote thingy 🀯! I mean, I know we're talking about a wild animal and all, but I was walking my dog near that road last week and I swear it looked so calm and normal... now my mind is racing thinking it could be that crazy coyote 😨. My neighbor just told me they saw it in their backyard too, so yeah, this isn't a drill, folks! Game Commission gotta step up the efforts to catch that thing ASAP πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ. Can we please get some updates on when/where the traps will be set up? I'm literally biting my nails over here 😬

🐺🌳 oh man this makes me think about how we need to coexist with wildlife a bit better you know? I mean its crazy that one wild animal can cause so much trouble but at the same time its like we gotta respect their space too these coyotes are just trying to survive like us its not easy being in the wild all alone with no shelter or food 🀯 and now were taking measures to make sure people are safe while also keeping them from getting hurt which is a win-win if you ask me! 😊

🐺😬 you know how often we hear about coyotes becoming more common nowadays? it's like when my grandma used to tell me stories about her childhood and how wild animals would just roam around back then... anyway, this is crazy! i mean, what if that coyote had rabies?! 🀒 we should've seen something like this coming with all the suburban development and wildlife encroachment... it's a good reminder to respect our environment and those who share their space with us πŸ’š

Umm yeah... another reason to love living in rural areas 🀣... I mean, who doesn't love getting bit by a wild animal and having to deal with the drama that ensues? πŸ˜‚ Meanwhile, I'm sure the person's vacation plans were totally ruined, but hey, at least they got a good story out of it, right? πŸ“š And let's not forget about all the excitement of being told what you can and can't do in your own backyard... it's like, hello? It's just a coyote! πŸ™„ Anyway, I hope the wildlife folks catch the thing before anyone else gets hurt. That would be awesome πŸ‘

I'm telling you, this whole thing smells like a cover-up πŸ€”. First of all, what's up with this "perforation of the skin"? Sounds like some kinda serious bite or scratch to me. And now they're warning us not to touch it because we don't know if it's rabid? Come on, can't they just be honest about that?

And have you noticed how quickly the PA Game Commission jumped in to deal with this? Like, what's their real motive here? Are they trying to catch a coyote or cover up some kinda government experiment gone wrong? 🚨 I'm not saying it's all conspiratorial nonsense, but something just don't add up.

I mean, where were these animals when we weren't paying attention? And why are they only now appearing in these specific townships? It sounds like there's more to this story than meets the eye... 🀯

Ugh, coyotes are just doing their thing πŸΊπŸ’š, right? I mean, they're not trying to hurt anyone... well, most of the time πŸ˜…. But seriously, gotta respect these wild animals and keep a safe distance. I guess this incident is a good reminder for us humans to be aware of our surroundings and take necessary precautions when we're out and about 🌳.

On the bright side, it's great that the health department and wildlife commission are working together to find this coyote and ensure public safety 🀝! And I love that residents are being informed and can report any sightings or encounters – it's all about education and coexistence, right? 🌈

🐺 I totally get why they're warning people not to mess with that coyote. I mean, even though it's super rare, rabies can be deadly 😬. It's always better to be safe than sorry. I've got a friend who lives out in the country and she's had encounters with coyotes before, but never with anything major 🀞. Still, you gotta respect their space and let the pros handle it. Those animal control guys know what they're doing πŸ™. And good on the health department for being proactive about warning people. I'd be all over social media if I knew someone in my area was bitten by a coyote 😳.

πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I don't think it's a big deal that someone got bitten by a coyote, like, what's the worst that could happen? People are being super hysterical about this and it's just one incident... I mean, we're not talking about some kind of epidemic here. And honestly, if you live in an area with wild animals, isn't it kinda expected that you'll get bitten or something? πŸ™„ I'm not saying I'd want to go around touching coyotes or anything, but come on, let's keep things in perspective here...

OMG 🀯 u gotta be careful out here in the suburbs!!! I mean, i know we think of them as cute and all, but come on! Coyotes can pack a punch πŸ”₯ literally! my cousin's neighbor was bitten like 5 yrs ago and she had to get shots for rabies. it's not worth it, fam πŸ’‰ they should've known better than to mess with that coyote. anyway, gotta give props to the game commission for stepping in ASAP πŸ™Œ
