Handwriting is my new favorite way to text with the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses

Meta's display-enabled smart glasses, the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, have finally started rolling out their long-awaited handwriting feature. This innovative technology allows users to send custom messages and replies discreetly, putting an end to the reliance on voice dictation or generic preset replies.

During a hands-on test at CES, I had the chance to try out this exciting new feature. To my surprise, it was surprisingly intuitive, allowing me to quickly write short sentences by tracing letters on a table with my hand. While the technology isn't perfect – misreading capital "I"s as "H"s and requiring some practice to correct typos – it's an exciting step forward in wearable tech.

Another notable feature announced at CES is the teleprompter, which enables users to beam up to 16,000 characters of text onto the display. This allows for more flexibility in terms of message length and control over when words appear on screen. However, unlike some traditional teleprompters, Meta's version doesn't automatically scroll – instead, it requires manual swiping through individual cards.

The updates mark one of the first major additions to the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses since their launch last year, demonstrating the company's commitment to continuous improvement and feature enhancement. It will be interesting to see how these new features integrate into daily use, particularly in terms of user preferences for voice dictation versus handwriting.

I'm so stoked about these new updates 🤩! I mean, who wouldn't want to send secret messages on the go without having to rely on voice commands? It's like having your own personal spy gadget 😏. But seriously, it's cool that they're working on making these glasses more user-friendly, even if there are some minor kinks to work out... I mean, come on Meta, can't you guys figure out a way to get the "I"s and "H"s to match up already? 😂 Still, this handwriting feature is like something out of a sci-fi movie – it's trippy! And that teleprompter feature is gonna be a game-changer for content creators. I'm excited to see how these updates roll out and what kind of new things we can do with our Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses 📺👀

🤔 I'm loving the handwriting feature on Meta's smart glasses! It's crazy how far we've come with wearable tech. I can already imagine scenarios where it'll be super convenient to send quick messages or reminders without having to fumble with your phone. The teleprompter feature is also a game-changer – think journalists, public speakers, and even business pros who need to deliver scripted lines on the fly! 📺 It's awesome that Meta's pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AR tech... now let's see how users adapt to these new features 😊

I'm stoked that Meta finally brought back the handwriting feature 🎉! I mean, who doesn't love scribbling notes on a table like a kid anymore? 😂 It's still got some quirks, but it's gonna be a game-changer for those who don't wanna use voice dictation all the time. And the teleprompter update is pretty cool too - 16k characters of text, that's a lot! 🤯 I'm curious to see how people will use this new feature, tho. Are they gonna go old-school handwriting or still prefer voice dictation? Only time (and users) will tell 😊

I'm not sure about this new handwriting thingy... I mean, it's cool that we can finally write messages without having to shout or tap on the screen, but like, what if we're in a meeting and someone walks by? Do we just hide our glasses behind our ear or something?

And 16,000 characters of text is a lot! Can't imagine how crazy it would be to scroll through that much stuff. Maybe they should make an app for that too, haha.

I'm kinda curious to try it out though. How do you know which glasses are getting the update? Is it like a notification or something?

Also, why did they call them Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses if they already have "Meta" in their name? It's just confusing now... 🤔👓

🤔 so its about time we got some decent handwriting capabilities on our glasses lol, i mean who needs to speak when you can just scribble away? but seriously, the teleprompter feature is kinda cool, idk if ill be using it though. i think Ill stick with voice dictation for now, its way more convenient 📚💻

oh man I'm so stoked about this update! 🤩 I was one of those people who thought voice dictation would never replace writing down messages, but now I can actually try it out myself 📝💻 the handwriting feature is kinda cool, but I can imagine it getting old fast. 16k characters on screen tho? that's wild 🤯 what if you need to send a long text and it gets all crammed up in one place though? 🤔

Wow 😮 this is so cool! I mean think about it, you're just wearing a pair of glasses, but you can send secret messages to people... it's like having your own personal spy movie 🕵️‍♀️. And the teleprompter feature is awesome too, it makes sense for journalists and public speakers to be able to beam up their notes on the fly 💻. I'm curious if they'll add more features like that in the future, maybe even a built-in camera so you can video call from your glasses 📱.
