Get TurboTax Deluxe for 44 percent off before tax season

Tax season is fast approaching, and with it comes the daunting task of filing your taxes. In a blow to taxpayers, Direct File has ceased operations, leaving a void in the free government-provided alternative for tax preparation software. Those who don't qualify for IRS Free File will have to shell out cash for Intuit's TurboTax, a program that has spent decades lobbying for a system that remains notoriously complex.

However, Amazon is stepping in with a lifeline for those who can't afford it the old-fashioned way. The company has discounted the Deluxe desktop edition of TurboTax by a whopping 44 percent, bringing the price down to just $35 from its usual $80 cost. This discount should cover the needs of most Americans, as long as they have a PC with Windows 11 or macOS Sonoma, which is still a significant investment.

Self-employed individuals, on the other hand, will need to part with even more cash for the Business version of TurboTax, currently on sale for 42 percent off - that's $54 less than its usual price. With tax season looming, it's worth noting that an older machine won't be able to run the software, so taxpayers may want to factor in a new computer if they're not already equipped with one.

For now, those looking to file their taxes can take advantage of this limited-time deal on TurboTax Deluxe. Just head over to Amazon and snap up the discount before it's gone for good.

I'm kinda surprised about Direct File shutting down 🤔... it was always a lifesaver for those who don't wanna pay for fancy tax software. Now, with this Amazon deal on TurboTax, I guess it's not all bad news? I mean, $35 is still pricey, but for most people, it should be manageable 💸. The only thing that worries me is if they'll have to upgrade their computer just to run the software 😬... not sure how many people are gonna be able to afford a new one on top of taxes 🤑. Still, I guess it's better than having to pay full price! 👍

come on amazon hows 44% off a bit too little if you ask me i mean i get that alot of ppl cant afford turbo tax but thats what free file is supposed to be there like whats next they gonna raise prices on everything else

OMG 🤯 tax season is like the ultimate stress test! I'm low-key relieved that Amazon stepped in with a price drop, but high-key worried about all you self-employed folks who'll need a new computer 🖥️ to run TurboTax Business. Like, can't we just have one system for file prep that's not as complex as a Kardashian family drama? 🤦‍♀️ And honestly, $35 for the Deluxe version is still pretty steep, but I guess it's better than shelling out full price 💸. Anyone else having to scramble to get their taxes done on time? 😬

ugh i hate having to pay for tax software its like we should get it for free considering how much the gov't is always taking from us anyway lol 🤣 anyhoo amazon's being kinda cool by offering that 44% discount on turbo tax tho thats def a lifesaver for most ppl who cant afford the regular price now i just hope they dont start charging more next year because of our tax debt lol 💸

Ugh, tax season is just like that one year in 2010 when my parents had to go through all that hassle with their W-2s... anyway, so Amazon is trying to be nice by cutting down the price of TurboTax, but still, it's kinda crazy how much it costs. I mean, back in the day, we used to have to do our taxes by hand, like on paper or something (remember those?). Nowadays, it's all about these fancy software programs that are super expensive...

ugh tax season is the WORST 🤯! i feel like we should have free tax prep software like Direct File back, but now it's just amazon stepping in with a half-measure by offering discounts on turboTax... but what about those who can't even afford a decent computer? 💸 that's, like, a whole different level of complicated 🤔. and the business version is even more expensive 😓. i guess it's good that amazon is trying to help out, but can't we just have a more sustainable solution for once? 🙏 maybe some non-profit orgs could get involved and create something better 💖

ugh tax season is literally the worst 🤯, cant believe we have to shell out so much cash for software 🤑 but yaaas 44% off turbo tax is a GAME CHANGER 💸 especially if you're self employed and have to pay more 💥 hope ppl take advantage of this deal before its gone 😅

Ugh, tax season is never easy 🤦‍♂️. I'm happy that Amazon is offering a discount on TurboTax, but $35 is still kinda steep for some people 💸. I mean, who can afford to spend that much on software when you're already stressing about where your money's going? And what's up with the requirements for running the program - Windows 11 or macOS Sonoma? That's like an extra expense just to file your taxes 😒. Still, I guess it's better than nothing...
