'Fallout' Returns to 'Magic: The Gathering' and Secret Lair

Wizards of the Coast has just dropped a new set of cards in Magic: The Gathering's Secret Lair series, inspired by the popular post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout. Season two of the show is nearing its end, but fans can still look forward to more tie-ins from this beloved franchise.

The new set, which includes four separate drops, brings some of the main characters from Fallout into the world of Magic: The Gathering for the first time. Fans will be able to get their hands on Lucy, Maximus, and Ghoul, each with unique designs that reflect their personalities in the game. Other cards focus on more general themes, such as canines, irradiated landscapes, and even the city of New Vegas.

As before, some of these new cards are reworked versions of existing Magic: The Gathering creatures, offering fans a chance to see their favorite Fallout characters in a whole new light.

The release comes at an interesting time for Magic: The Gathering fans. This marks the second collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and the Fallout franchise, following the Commander decks released last year. While there has been no official word on whether the Secret Lair series will be expanded to include more Fallout-themed sets in the future, this latest drop suggests that the partnership may not be limited to just one-time events.

For fans who want to get in on the action, non-foil packs for all four drops are available starting Monday at 8 AM PT. The foil versions of these packs will retail for a bit more.

🤔 I gotta wonder, what does it say about our collective psyche that we'd even consider merging Magic: The Gathering with something as dark and bleak as Fallout? It's like we're drawn to the very essence of chaos and destruction. And yet, at the same time, I love how these collaborations bring new life to both franchises. It's a weirdly symbiotic relationship - one fuels the other's passion and creativity.

And can we talk about how this new set reflects our fascination with post-apocalyptic worlds? We're living in times of great uncertainty and change, and it's like our imagination is running wild, conjuring up scenarios where humanity is forced to adapt and survive in a harsh environment. It's both beautiful and terrifying, if you ask me.

For all its darkness, Fallout seems to offer us a unique perspective on what it means to be human - to struggle, to persevere, and to find hope in the most unlikely of places. That's something we can all learn from, I think 🌟

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s dope that Wizards of Coast is collaborating with Fallout again 🤯. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see those iconic characters in Magic: The Gathering? The design on the cards looks fire 🔥, especially Lucy and Maximus. I love how they reworked some existing creatures to fit the Fallout theme – it’s a great way for fans to see their favorite characters in a new light 💡. And can we talk about how cool it is that this series is still going strong? Season two of Secret Lair is almost over, but there's still plenty more where that came from 🤞. I'm hyped to get my hands on those non-foil packs on Monday at 8 AM PT ⏰!

It's awesome that they're including reworked versions of existing creatures too. I'm curious to see how this set will play out in the game. Hopefully, we'll get more Fallout-themed sets in the future. That'd be sick! 😎

I'm also curious about the reworked versions of existing creatures - will we get to see some classic Fallout foes in new Magic: The Gathering form? 👊
