Cyclist dies in Queens after crashing into car door opened by driver, police say

Ugh, another horrific incident like this is just too much 🤕. I mean, can't we make roads safer for everyone? The whole "dooring" thing is just so inexcusable - it's not that hard to keep an eye on your surroundings and check those doors before hopping out of a car! 🙄

I'm also really frustrated with the fact that the driver didn't face any charges. I get that accidents can be super complicated, but there has to be some accountability for reckless behavior like this. It's just not fair to cyclists who are trying to navigate these roads without the protection of dedicated bike lanes.

And omg, the numbers on e-bike crashes are insane - 36% more incidents in one year? We need to do something about that ASAP! 🚲💥 With daylight saving time ending soon and days getting shorter, we're all just going to be more tired and distracted on the roads... it's a recipe for disaster. 😴🚨

Like, can't people just be aware of their surroundings? 🙄 The driver in this case was lucky to not get charged, but what about all the others who do it and don't get caught? It's like, the city needs more bike lanes or better infrastructure for cyclists, you know? I've seen so many close calls on my daily commute... Anyway, 170 deaths in Queens already this year is just insane. Can we please just be careful out here everyone? 😔
 
Ugh, what's wrong with people?! Can't they even remember to check their doors before opening them? It's not that hard! 😩 The whole "dooring" thing is just ridiculous - I mean, I've been riding my bike around NYC for years and I know it's a huge risk factor. But the fact that the driver in this case didn't get charged at all is just crazy talk. What about accountability?! Someone's gotta be held responsible when they put others' lives at risk like that.

And don't even get me started on e-bikes - I think they're awesome, but yeah, that surge in crashes is alarming. It's only gonna get worse now with daylight saving time ending and everything becoming darker. We need some serious infrastructure changes around here... or at least some education campaigns for drivers to be more aware of their surroundings! 🚴‍♂️💡
