Closures, courses, and where to watch 2026 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon

Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon Set for Thrilling Weekend in January

The highly anticipated Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon are set to take place on January 9-11, with the marathon weekend kicking off on Friday, January 9. The event will see thousands of runners from all over the world gather at George R. Brown Convention Center and other locations across downtown Houston.

On race day, Sunday, January 11, runners can expect a fast-paced course that takes them through six distinct neighborhoods, including Washington Corridor, Upper Kirby, Rice, West University, Galleria, Tanglewood, Memorial Park, and others. The finish line will be located at Lamar and Crawford Streets.

To make the event even more exciting, this year's marathon will feature a unique start-line system with six corrals, each with its own predicted finish time range. Runners can expect to start in corral A or B, depending on their performance during registration.

Viewers who want to cheer on their favorite runners can catch the action live on ABC13's coverage of the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon on Sunday, January 11, at 6:30 a.m. They will also be able to track their favorite runner in real-time using the marathon app or a web-based tracking tool.

In addition to the exciting racing action, this year's event promises to be an entertaining one for spectators as well, with RunFest taking place on Discovery Green and Jones Lawn from 7 am to 10:30 am. The Houston Marathon Health and Fitness Expo will also open its doors at George R. Brown Convention Center on Friday.

While the event promises to be a thrilling one, runners are advised to plan ahead carefully due to significant road construction and street closures throughout downtown Houston. They should arrive early and allow plenty of time for parking and getting into place.

The Chevron Houston Marathon has become a staple in the city's running calendar since its inception in 1972, and this year's event promises to be just as thrilling. Runners can qualify for the Boston Marathon using their performance times at this event, making it an exciting opportunity for those looking to take on one of the world's premier marathons.

The final map for viewing spectator locations is available online, along with more information about parking and road closures.

OMG u guys!!! 🀩 I'm so hyped 4 the Chevron Houston Marathon & Aramco Houston Half Marathon next month! I've been thinking about signing up 2 do it myself, but my schedule's kinda tight lol. Can u imagine runnin' through downtown H-Town with all those other crazy runners? πŸ˜‚πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ It's gonna be so much fun spectatin' with friends & family though! We'll def have to set up a cheering squad πŸŽ‰ at the finish line. And omg, I almost forgot 2 mention RunFest on Discovery Green - that sounds like SO much fun! They're gonna have music, food, & more! Who else is excited for this marathon weekend? πŸ€—πŸ‘Ÿ

oh man I'm so stoked for the Chevron Houston Marathon! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ it's always amazing to see thousands of runners come together from all around the world to crush a 26.2 miles. i love that they're adding this new start-line system with six corrals, it's gonna be so cool to see people racing in different groups and competing against each other. πŸ€” and can't wait for RunFest on Discovery Green, it's always such a fun vibe! πŸŽ‰ I'm also super excited to watch the live coverage on ABC13, will definitely be tuning in to cheer on my favorite runners. πŸ“Ί

OMG, I'm so stoked for the Chevron Houston Marathon next month πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŽ‰! Thousands of runners from all over the world are gonna be there, and it's gonna be SO cool to see them in action on Sunday, Jan 11th πŸ“Ί. The start-line system with six corrals sounds like a great idea - I love how they're catering to different pace groups πŸ’ͺ. I'm also hyped for RunFest on Discovery Green, that's always such a fun event πŸŽ‰. But, gotta say, road construction and street closures can be super stressful, so make sure to plan ahead and arrive early ⏰. And, yay! The Houston Marathon has become a staple in the city's running calendar since 1972 - it's amazing to see how far it's come over the years πŸ™Œ.

I'm not buying into all the hype around this marathon πŸ€”. Thousands of people gathering in downtown Houston can't be good for traffic or air quality... plus they're gonna close down the roads for hours on end? That's just asking for a headache! And what's with the start-line system? Just another way to keep the pros ahead, I guess. It's all about who you know and how much money you shell out for a spot, right?

And don't even get me started on the parking situation... I mean, good luck finding a spot that's not a mile away from the finish line! RunFest and the expo are just gonna add to the chaos. I'll stick to watching it all go down from my couch with a nice cup of coffee β˜•οΈ.

can't believe how crowded downtown Houston gets during marathon weekend πŸ€―πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ ugh, all those cars & trucks on the roads are such a pain, can't they just use those little bridges for once? 🚧 anyway, i love how runfest is happening on discovery green this year - that sounds like so much fun! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘« it's crazy to think about how many people will be gathering in one place on sunday... but at the same time, it's amazing to see all these ppl from around the world come together to support each other. πŸŒŽπŸ’–

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ so like what's up is that these marathons are gonna be EPIC 🀩! 2024 saw over 22k runners participate in the Chevron Houston Marathon alone! πŸš€ they're also expecting a huge turnout for Aramco this year, with registration already being flooded πŸ“ˆ. I mean, it's not just about running, it's an experience πŸ’ƒπŸ½. Plus, did you know that last year's event saw over $1.3m raised for local charities? 🌟 and this year they're adding RunFest on Discovery Green, which is gonna be lit πŸ”₯! πŸ“Š btw, the 6 corrals start system is a genius idea πŸ€“

omg u no i think its kinda cool dat chevron houston marathon & aramco houston half marathon r happening soon πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŽ‰! idk why ppl always say its just a boring run, its like, how many ppl can handle running 26.2 miles straight lol? plus its a great way to see htown while gettin pumped up at runfest πŸŽΆπŸ‘ i'm low-key hoping to register myself, wish me luck!

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Ugh, another marathon πŸ™„... I mean, isn't it exciting that thousands of people will be running around downtown Houston in freezing temps? I guess if you're into that sorta thing πŸ’¨. And great, a fancy start-line system with different corrals for each level of runner 🀣. Because, you know, the real thrill is in seeing who can start in which corral... Not like they'll all just be trying not to get trampled on the starting line πŸ˜‚.

But seriously, if you're into marathons or just wanna watch some humans torture themselves on the course, this event looks pretty fun πŸŽ‰. And hey, at least it's a great excuse to check out RunFest and the expo πŸ€“... Just don't expect me to join in on the excitement 😴.

man i think its gonna be a total snooze fest 🀯 - thousands of runners showing up in houston, clogging up the streets and traffic is gonna be a nightmare 😩 - who thought it was a good idea to have six corrals at the start line? its just gonna make the whole thing feel super competitive instead of just about getting to the finish line πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ - and what's with all the road construction in downtown houston? cant they just do it on the weekends like everyone else? πŸ’”

Ugh, another marathon to deal with traffic in downtown Houston πŸš—πŸ˜’. Like, can't we just have a nice quiet weekend without all the runners taking over the city? I mean, I guess it's cool that there are six corrals for the start line, so everyone can be guaranteed their spot... unless they're like me and get stuck in traffic on Friday πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. Anyway, if you're into marathons, this one looks pretty epic, with all the different neighborhoods to run through. Just don't expect me to join you guys, I'll be over here sipping coffee at home 😴. Oh, and RunFest sounds like a blast... until it gets too crowded and loud πŸŽ‰.

I just love how many runners are gonna be in Houston next month πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘Ÿ! The marathon weekend is always so much fun to watch πŸ˜„. I heard the new start-line system is really cool... like having a chance to see who's actually fast πŸ’ͺ. And yeah, it's crazy busy downtown, but that's all part of the excitement right? 🀩

I'm low-key stoked for this marathon event πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ! I think it's awesome that they're offering a start-line system with six corrals - it's gonna be super competitive! But, can we talk about the parking situation? πŸš— With all the road construction and street closures, I'm worried it's gonna be a nightmare for runners trying to get there. And what's up with RunFest being on Discovery Green and Jones Lawn? Isn't that where they usually have festivals or something? πŸ€” It just seems like they're throwing in some extra stuff to try and boost attendance. Not sure if I'm hyped about it, tbh πŸ˜’

idk why everyone's so hyped up about these marathons πŸ€”. like i get it, running's cool and all, but theres always ppl dashing into the streets on a sunday morning... dont they know some people have plans? 😴 also what's with the six corrals for the start line? is that just a way to make more money off the runners or somethin'? πŸ€‘ seems fishy to me. plus, has anyone actually seen the actual course map? all these neighborhoods sound super fun i guess, but idk if its worth dealin with all the traffic and construction 🚧. can't we just have a chill day for once? 😎

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ so excited for the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon this jan! 🀩 they have so many cool features like start-line system with 6 corrals πŸ“ˆ and runners can track their favorite runner in real-time πŸ“Š my friend is training for it and I'm gonna try to cheer her on at runfest πŸŽ‰πŸ‘ anyone know the best viewing spots downtown houston? πŸ€”
