Antioch Man Stable After Neck Shooting

A 29-year-old Antioch man is recovering in hospital after being shot in the neck during an incident that occurred on Thursday night. According to authorities, the shooting took place around 10:45 p.m. in the 600 block of Wilbur Avenue.

Details surrounding the incident remain scarce, with police Lieutenant Franco Cesar stating that medical aid was provided by officers until Contra Costa County Fire Protection District personnel arrived at the scene, whereupon the victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Fortunately, his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.

As part of their ongoing investigation, authorities have yet to announce any arrests or provide suspect information. For those who may have witnessed the incident or possess relevant information, the Antioch Police Department is encouraging anyone with tips to get in touch at [email protected].

In the meantime, residents and visitors to the area are advised to stay vigilant, as the case remains under active investigation.
 
Just another senseless shooting 😩... can't believe our society has to live like this. I mean, a 29-year-old guy just walking home from who knows where and BAM! Next thing you know he's in the hospital with a non-life-threatening neck injury 🤕. What even is that? And no arrests yet? It's just so frustrating... 😤

I'm so glad they finally found someone to save this guy's life 🤞... I mean, who would've thought that the people responding to a shooting would be able to keep him from bleeding out? 🙄 It's just a miracle he's stable right now, but of course, there are still no leads on who pulled the trigger. That's what's really concerning - how many other victims are gonna show up in a body bag and nobody even notices? 💀 And yeah, great job to the APD for collecting tips from random bystanders... I'm sure it'll be super helpful when they inevitably release a list of suspects that all look like completely innocent people 😒.
 
yeah right 🙄 so now everyone's all worried about some random shooting in antioch... like what's the point? it's just one guy getting shot in the neck, big deal 🤷‍♂️ doesn't mean the whole city's gonna go crazy or anything. and police are still investigating? how long's that gonna take? gonna be months before they figure out who did it, probably 😒 meanwhile people are just gonna keep living their lives and hoping the guy recovers from his non-life threatening injuries 🙏 news outlets are just trying to get clicks by sensationalizing every little thing...

man this guy's lucky to be alive 🙏😱 i dont know what happened but shot in the neck is no joke, must've been super scary for him & witnesses. hope he recovers fully from this and gets back to his normal life soon 🤞🌞
 
Oh man, that's such a scary situation 😱, I can only imagine how traumatic it must be for the victim and his loved ones 🤕. Neck shots can be super serious and lucky for him that he's stable now 💪. It's always a good idea to get help ASAP when something like this happens, so kudos to all the first responders who were there to lend a hand ❤️.

It's crazy how quickly things can escalate into chaos 😲, but I'm just glad nobody else was hurt 🙏. I hope the police are able to catch whoever did this soon and bring them to justice 💼.
