A new comedy about family, anger and magical chicken soup is premiering in Philly

Philly's Center City is about to get a taste of magic with the world premiere of "Marsha Blovotnick and the Marvelous Magical Chicken Soup" at Theatre Ariel. This new comedy promises to tickle funny bones while tapping into themes of family, anger, and a dash of magical realism.

Meet Marsha, an angry woman who's getting ready for Shabbat when her sister drops by unannounced, sending their dinner plans into a tailspin. But things take a strange turn when a mysterious ancestor appears, bearing a pot of enchanted chicken soup that forces Marsha to confront the underlying tensions within her family.

As the meal unfolds, Marsha is forced to re-examine the relationships she's been carrying around for far too long. Will this magical elixir be enough to mend fences and calm frayed nerves? Or will it simply add fuel to the fire of resentment?

The show runs from March 12th to March 22nd at The Bluver Theatre @ The Drake, with tickets available online starting at $18. If you're in Philly and looking for a dose of laughter and self-discovery, "Marsha Blovotnick and the Marvelous Magical Chicken Soup" is definitely worth checking out.

OMG u guys!! 🀣 I've got the scoop on this new comedy and it sounds like SO MUCH FUN! The story about Marsha's crazy family dinner is literally relatable to me, we all know that feeling when our siblings just show up unannounced πŸ˜‚. But what really gets me excited is the magical realism part - a mysterious ancestor with enchanted chicken soup? Yes please! πŸ’« It's like a comedy-meets-therapy session and I am HERE for it! πŸ€— The fact that it explores themes of family, anger, and self-discovery means it's gonna be more than just a laugh-out-loud night, it's also gonna make you think. And the cast? I'm not sure who's behind the curtain yet but trust me when I say this show is gonna be a HIT! 🎟️ Get your tickets for March 12th-22nd and let's get ready to LOL and maybe even shed a few tears... or both πŸ˜‚πŸ’”

🀣 Omg I'm low-key hyped for this new show! A magical chicken soup comedy sounds so lit πŸœπŸ˜‚. I love how it tackles family drama and all that real talk. Marsha's gotta deal with her sister and some ancient ancestor vibes, I can already see the drama unfolding on stage πŸ˜‚πŸ‘€. And the theme of re-examining relationships is so relatable, I need to get tickets ASAP 🎟️! Who else is stoked for this show? ⭐️

omg i'm so down to see this show 🀣 i mean who wouldn't want to watch a comedy that explores themes of family and anger in a magical way? it sounds like it's gonna be a wild ride πŸ˜‚ i love how the main character, marsha, is an angry woman trying to navigate her relationships - it's so relatable. and the idea of a mysterious ancestor appearing with enchanted chicken soup is just genius 🍜✨ i'm also really curious about how the show tackles magical realism - will it be spooky or whimsical? anyway, march 12th can't come soon enough 🎟️

OMG, I'm so down for this show 🀣! I mean, who doesn't love a good comedy about family drama and magical realism? It sounds like it's gonna be just like those classic movies from back in the day, you know, "Steel Magnolias" but with chickens instead of wigs πŸ˜‚. And the idea that Marsha has to confront her underlying tensions is so relatable. I was always like that with my cousins during the holidays... my mom would invite their families over and it was just so awkward trying to keep everything straight. This show sounds like it's gonna be a real laugh-out-loud kinda deal 🀣!

Ugh 🀯 I mean, I'm all for a good laugh, but have you seen the ticket prices? $18? That's just crazy! πŸ€‘ Can't they find a way to make it more affordable? And what's with the 'magical realism' thing? Sounds like marketing fluff to me πŸ˜’. Don't get me wrong, I love a good family drama, but do we really need to add some fancy-schmancy magic to it? πŸ€” I'll believe it when I see it... and even then, I'll be the first one in line to question its legitimacy πŸ˜‰

OMG have u guys ever tried that new chipotle spot downtown? 🌯 I swear their carne asada tacos are LIFE.CHANGING. anyway, back to this play... magic realism, eh? kinda like when I was a kid and my mom used to make these crazy-sounding meals with random stuff like peanut butter and pickles πŸ€ͺ. But for real, sounds like the show's got some heavy themes going on beneath that wacky surface. think i might have to check it out with my squad, who knows what kind of drama we'll create backstage πŸ˜‚

🀣 I'm excited to hear that this new comedy is coming to The Bluver Theatre @ The Drake! Marsha's struggle to reconcile family tensions with a dash of magical realism sounds like a fascinating premise, and the themes of anger, family, and self-discovery are timely and universal. 🍲 It'll be interesting to see how the playwright balances humor with heart, and whether the show will manage to both tickle funny bones and tap into deeper emotions. With the world premiere under its belt, I'm curious to hear what audiences think of Marsha's journey! πŸ‘€

I'm hyped for this new comedy to hit Center City πŸŽ‰! The premise sounds so relatable - who hasn't had that one family member drop by unannounced and mess with dinner plans? πŸ˜‚ And adding a magical twist on top of it all sounds like just the thing to spice things up. I love how it touches on themes of family, anger, and self-discovery too - it's not just a laugh-out-loud show, but also a chance to reflect on our relationships. The timing is perfect for March, too - I might have to plan a night out with friends! πŸ‘«

Ugh, just what we need another overpriced theatre show in Center City πŸ€‘. I mean, who comes up with this stuff? A comedy about an angry woman's family drama that just so happens to involve magical realism? Sounds like a bunch of nonsense to me πŸ˜’. And $18 for a ticket? Are they kidding me? That's just going to be some overhyped, mediocre show with a bunch of pretentious fans 🀣. I'll believe it's worth checking out when I see some actual reviews that aren't just glowing praise from the theatre crowd πŸ’β€β™€οΈ.

omg have u ever tried making chicken soup from scratch? i swear it's like a warm hug on a bad day 🍜 my grandma used to make this crazy good recipe with carrots, celery, and some secret ingredient that only she knew... anyway, i'm kinda thinking of hosting a soup night at my place soon and invite all my friends πŸ€— what do u think? we could have like, a potluck or something and see who brings the most epic soup story πŸ²πŸ˜‚

🀣 I'm so down for this new comedy show! I love how it tackles real family issues like anger and tension in a super unique way with magical realism πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ. The idea of a mysterious ancestor bringing enchanted chicken soup to the table sounds hilarious and totally relatable . It's always great when shows can make you laugh while also making you think about your own relationships. I'll def be checking out this show if it comes to my city πŸ˜‚, can't wait to see how it all plays out!

🀣 I just had the craziest dream last night where I was flying over the city on my skateboard and saw a giant bowl of chicken noodle soup hovering above the skyline... I know it sounds weird, but honestly, the idea of magical realism in comedy is so appealing right now 🍜🎭. Speaking of food, have you tried that new vegan cafe downtown? I heard their "mac 'n cheese" is basically a game-changer... anyway, back to Philly's Theater scene – I'm definitely intrigued by this show!
