I'm all for trying to protect those horses

. I mean, they're living in NYC - it's crazy enough out there without having to deal with horse-drawn carriages too! The thing is, if we're gonna outlaw 'em, we gotta make sure we've got a solid plan in place for the horses that are already out there. Like, where are they gonna go? We can't just leave them to fend for themselves.
And I get what Councilmember Holden is saying about the horses getting stressed in Central Park - it's not exactly the most horse-friendly environment

. But at the same time, I don't think we should be throwing more bodies at the problem without thinking it through. Like, what if we just phase out the old stables and create new ones somewhere else? That way, we can ensure those horses are getting the care they need.
It's also pretty suspicious that this is happening right around the time some big developers want to start building on that land

. I'm not saying that's a coincidence or anything, but it feels like there's more going on here than just animal welfare concerns...
