2 surfers missing off the Santa Cruz coast, US Coast Guard says

It's just terrible about those two guys who went missing out there . You gotta feel for the families of these surfers, must be super worried sick. 90 miles is a huge area to search, I don't blame them for calling it off when they didn't find anything. The Coast Guard is doing their thing, but you can only do so much. It's just a reminder that we're all human and vulnerable, no matter how experienced or prepared we think we are. My heart goes out to the loved ones of these two guys

Ugh man... still no luck . I mean what even happens out there? You're just out catching some gnarly waves one minute, and next thing you know you're struggling to stay afloat the next. This is crazy . The Coast Guard must be doing everything they can but 90 miles of searching isn't exactly gonna turn up anyone anytime soon . Ugh, I'm still trying to catch some gnarly waves on my new surfboard but hearing about these two missing surfers in Santa Cruz is really getting me down . It's just so harsh to think that they might be out there somewhere, struggling to stay alive while their loved ones are left wondering what happened to them .

The Coast Guard is doing a great job searching for them, but I feel like we need some tech-savvy solutions to help with the search . Like, have you guys heard of those new underwater drones that can detect life signs? It would be so cool if they could deploy something like that to scan the waters more efficiently .

Anyway, I hope these two surfers are found safe and sound soon . Until then, I'll just have to stick to my online surfing sessions .

Ugh, can't believe these two surfers are still MIA off the Santa Cruz coast . Just thinkin' about those waves bein' 7-9 feet high and now they're just... gone . Coast Guard's searchin' for like, ever, but no leads so far . Makes me wonder what happened out there, hope they find out soon . Anyone have any info? I'm getting a little worried about those missing surfers... The Coast Guard searched over 90 miles of coastline, which is a huge area, and still found nothing? I know they said it was based on environmental conditions and survivability assessments, but can't we do more to help them out?

Did you see the wave height when those surfers were in distress? 7-9 feet high? That's crazy! And 200 yards offshore? That's like, super far out for even the best surfers. I'm just glad no one was injured... yet.

I've been checking the weather forecast, and it looks like there's a low-pressure system moving in today. Hope that doesn't bring any more bad news.

According to the search area, 90% of reported lost persons cases are found within 5 miles from where they went missing. Maybe these guys will be lucky? Fingers crossed!

I've got a friend who lives in Santa Cruz and is keeping an eye on this story. She's been checking in with Coast Guard all day, and I hope she gets some info soon!
